Interesting idea...should change the starting date to 700 something AUC and giving the provinces to other faction: You can do that yourself quite easily.
The file you need to alter is the descr_strat.txt located in the modfolder of the roman campaign you want to use in data/world/maps/campaign/impèrial_campaign

Hi, I'm playing RTW for the first time since 2005 cuz I finally got some free time. RSII is great but one thing that nags me is that the Roman leader is just called national leader, rather than consul or emperor as you go on...Is there a mod that addresses that? Is there one that says Emperor or King similiar to MTW II? Thanks.

Hello bslugger202-The solution is going to your main data-text folder. There you will find a expand_bi text.
Make a backup at first!!! Than open it, scroll down and find---change the entry for the roman leader, as you wish. You also could change the navy-army-town names, as i did too. Hope it will help.

I hate the vanilla voice acting with passion, and it keeps me from enjoying RS2 to its full extent. I thought importing the voices from Europa Barbarorum would be good, but I have no idea how to do it. Is it difficult?

Hi Jug, you need to get permission from EB to use their files. Its against TWC policy to use files from other mods.

That's if you're going to release it to the community as a sub mod, I don't think there's any rule against doing it for personal use.

Still in that idea, I just would like to know if happened, an actual attempt of some RSII team member (or someone else) asking it to EB team to made something 'shareable' (as happens with some other specific submods...).

Just to know if they would agree, specially now that EB team is deep in MTW2 modding (that I also await with enormous anxiety! ).

does anyone know how to make the units larger than 160 or 200. I want units like 300 or 400 for more interesting battle.

...243 is the maximum harcoded unit size...
but making all of them that size would throw the balance totally off...so some are 243 (mainly spear/light sword and similar/some mercs) some are 203 (mainly heavy infantry) and others are 160 (bows, skirmishers) and Cavalry 120...

Well if you look at terzer (the first post on the forum) and look at the picture he has, his units are doubled. His infantry is 4-- something and his calvary is 2-- something. I was wondering how he did that or are those special units. I don't have the mod yet but I want to download it this weekend. If those are special units then I dont really care and I could use them in the game but if you can do that too all your units that would be awesome.

I said its hardcoded....that means coded in the source code located in the .exe
only way make units bigger is to decompile the exe...change the corresponding checks and entrys and compile it again...congrats...guilty of copyright infringement
Do not insist on this further....something happend in the past...it got deleted from TWC and end of story.

btw bigger units resulted in constant CTDs during battle cause of pathfindng issues...it turned out that the engine could not handle it.

I have a request for a submod, or hey, maybe a tweak for the RSII Mod itself.
I love playing as the Greek States but as i am bit a a control freak i spend the early turns of the game just abandoning every settlement i own exept the ones i wish to play with. (Massila for a Hellenic-Gaul Empire, Syracuse for a Sicilian state, Athens and its leauge in Greece etc)
This is time consuming and very dull, so if anyone could split the many states in the game into nations of their own. (Kingdom of Syracuse, Delian League etc)
    I would appreciate it greatly.

    hi

the mod is superb ,it proves to be really historical, and a great plus from vannila.

it s great to bring rome to the statut of empire, but something is missing.

after you conquer historical Roman empire, and deal with the revolts, the game is preety ended.

Is it possible to implement the huns, ostrogots vizigots and all other barbarian invasions into the mod?it s cool,to see the rise of an empire,BUT IT S MUCH BETTER TO SEE THE FALL OF IT

Nope. We are out of faction slots, units slots and more or less everything else needed.

    I have a plan/ suggestion for a Pricipate sub-mod
Various ideas for Start date:27 bc Pricipate of Augustus- 180 ad Principate of Marcus Aurelius

    factions:
    • Romans
    • Shadow Romans
    • Dalmations/Pannonians
    • Dacia
    • Sarmatae
    • Parthians
    • Blemmyes
    • Suebi
    • Marcomanni
    • cherusci
    • Quadi
    • Armenia
    • Judea (was not annexed till 6ad)
    • Cantabri/Astures
Most of factions are either already in or can be altered to fit time line and perhaps can find other sources of units with permissions of course

I have absolutely no modding ability, but with some help and tuitions am happy to learn
If anyone wants to help that would be great, in the mean time I will research and tutor myself

I hope the developers of this fantastic mod will allow me to attempt this idea, thanks for your time and this excellent mod
    Wish me luck.
    Oh and suggestions please
    Thanks

I support Demetrius I Poliorketes' proposal because this would be awesome.
The Principate is my,and i think many other players' or future players',favourite era and always my own personal achievement goal whenever i play as Rome in the RS mod(s).
I have no modding experience on RTW,but i offer my full cooperation on this sub mod(if it goes through)as researcher if needed.

    .
    ...
Principate ? Sounds like you have to play this...
Rome 1Turn Expansion "Five Good Emperors"

its up to 180 AD and includes Hadrians max expansion as victory condition...in this scenario the segmentata legions make plenty of sense...

Sounds like a great idea, always surprised there are no Principate mods
