    Default Unit cohesion

    Hello all,

    while playing a new 2.1 vanilla campain with Eriador I noticed that the unit cohesion at infantry and cavalry charges are somehow not as good as they where before.

    When a unit charge often just a few men reach the charged enemy. Im wondering if other players experience the same thing?

    Do you mean when just the front few lines run in while the rest slowly walk towards the enemy?

    thats precisly what I mean

    Im not sure if in my older campain games with TWTA 1.4 the submod from point blank RR/RC affected unit cohesion and thatwhy it was better?

    The problem that I experience is that to stand and shoot is often better then to move and attack ... and im missing the charge bonus on my side.

    Anythig out there I can do about it, besides complaining and whining?

    the same problem as i had
    i charged towards the enemy, crushed into "him" but , well only a few of my units were actually fighting.

    the others were ready for fighting but just walked behind.
    Strange but i don“t think its a bug

    No, its no bug, you are right! I think it has to do with the unit cohesion, which I believe can be modified in the edu.file by editing specific stats but I dont know exactly how.

    There was a submod about improving unit cohesion but it is long gone and I cant find s.th.

    Does anybody know what to do, besides waiting for RR/RC 2.1?

    Things you could do besides waiting. That's a tricky one, but here are some:
    - Go to the Mod Workshop. Even if there isn't a usefull tutorial, you can ask a question about it in the appropriate section
    - Ask the man himself
    - Wait for a real modder to drop by and give you advice.

    This problem usually occurs for me when maneuvering units, A charge from a formed line almost always works better. 2nd repeat the attack command several times it really seems to help annoying as it is. Also Archer units turning to melee are the worst in my experience for it. I find shutting off fire at will and issuing a halt command before the melee attack command helps immensely with them. The basic issue I think is that the units have tendency to want to get into formation before attacking and absolutely hate a direction change to attack, which seems to cause confusion a fairly realistic aspect of war actually. A column left or right face to line maneuver, (a standard drill order from personal experience, we did it again and again and again and again well you get the picture), would be immensely useful tool but it does not seem to exist.

    These are my conclusions based on personal observation, A modder's view would be extremely welcome

    i had this problem, but in 2.1 i didn't oppose these type of problems

    Are your units in Guard Mode?
