What do my fellow Total War brothers in their "own" words define Blitz and in what way can we achieve this in game?
There is no real "blitzing" anymore. Not effective blitzing that can beat good players anyway.
I only use Blitzkrieg because I love to say it in a German accent. SO FUN!Also Blitzkrieg is a style that involves breaking past the enemy with few preparatory measures and with speed. It is difficult but effective I must say.

They nerfed the 'blitz' in the last patch where thay made infantry slower and have less stamina.
I really think it ruined the game but it helped to improve the effectiveness of arty.
This was probably done because most gamers who work for CA are arty campers![]()
is this true? thising explains everything. i've been trying to put my finger on it. before the last patch in late june, if you were a fast enough clicker and you used groups wisely, and were mindful of spatial positioning, you could attack on certain settings on flat map so fast that you could isolate one portion of your opponents army and destroy it before even a skilled opponent could react.

Yeah, I can't remember which patch it was but they reduced the speed men run and reduced their stamina but they also increased the rate at which men "recover".
I'm pretty sure they did this because people would run their man all the way to engage the enemy and made artillery kind of useless. Thus, they nerfed the "Blitz"![]()

Artillery does have men to protect it.. CA really has no reason to do that. If you can't defend your artillery its your own fault :/
I don't think its realy about defending artillery but more about making artillery more important in a battle. Before the patch, if you had no artillery and your opponent had 2 units ( on grassy flatlands ) you could just ran at full speed to close in to the enemy and their artillery would have only got off about 3 - 5 shots.
Now that men run slower and for shorter periods of time, artillery is able to get off 10+ shots before you can finally close in to the enemy and engage with line inf + attack with cav. So I guess they have given artillery a more important role because I think that before the patch arty was almost useless and it was bad to bring it unless you are playing on certain terrain maps.
Ofcourse, things were a bit different in terrain maps and on medium funds which I have been experimenting with lately.
