Default Help me not murder my laptop? Please?

Alright, so, I installed RTW, decided I didnt want it, and un installed it. Went through and deleted everything I could find having to do with the game. Now, i want to install it again so I put the CD in and guess what?

The damn "Install" button isnt highlighted, the "Play RTW" button is. ?!?!?!?!? There is no TW game installed on my laptop, none. I had Medieval 2 for a bit after Rome, but both are gone and I want Rome back but I cant get it because apparently its already on my laptop!!!!

This damn thing is annoying me to the point of wanting to blow a hole through it with some #3 Buck shot.

Find C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information and delete {FD69C8CB-6964-432C-98AB-A5A09ED50EEA} if it still exists.

No. You missed something. Have you run a registry cleaner and rebooted?

Nope. Same thing. And when i click it the "Something sheild" little red box pops up, goes away, then decides to say "F you" and not run the game. This confuses me, ive never had a game do this.

You could just run the setup from the CD.

Disable the UAC and in the icon set it "Run as Administrator" and XP Compatible.

The other thing to consider is that if you've installed to the 'protected' folder (c:\program files (x86)) there may be traces of your game left in the 'virtual strore' or 'appdata' area. In order to find the start of the path just run %appdata% and then follow the most appropriate folder path.

    It's usually something like this:

    c:\Users\'user account'\AppData\Roaming
