Man of the Hour adoptions. I had this happen to a Sicilian crusader army in SS, but only once. I managed to kill both generals and then the army went poof.
Unless your assassin has simply been not killing the guy but still escaping. Are you sure there is a new general each turn (different name)?
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

yes each was a different family member
Ok It is my guess that that Spanish royal family is nearly extinct (and therefore nearly defeated)
M2TW spawns generals through "man of the hour" events or "adoptions" based on a city to generals ratio therefore if the spaniards are down to just a faction leader (+ possibly heir too) then M2TW ai will spawn a new general every turn to keep the minimum number up
If you are using assassins to kill off the spanish then find the other spanish general and bump both of them off on the same turn
Unless that stack successfully attacked somebody, it is not going to be from Man of the Hour. Adoptions are the only mechanism that would fit.
What is the minimum amount of generals a one region kingdom will have? From experience, I think it is three.
I´ve had that too a few times.
Every turn I assasinated the general of an enemy army, and every turn they got a new family member.
There was seemingly no reason to why they suddenly got it.
No family member whitin range that could jump in and take command.
The army did not participate in battles, so there was no possibility of Man of the Hour adoption.
There were only one family member in the army at the time, so there was no possibility that my assasins missed one.
It seems that they just promoted the captain... I figured that it was probably something the AI can do when it feels like.

This is happening all the time in all of my campaigns!I assasinate a general and the next turn there is a brand new on!Damned AI!
This will happen very often. AI stacks that are without a general will get one for free. I have seen this in M2TW and in RTW.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.
Tosa will be missed.
