"Why did you call this meeting?" asked Angel.
"Because of your plan to kill us. We thought it best we try a group intervention" said Helen Brucker.
"How thoughtful of you all," replied Angel as with a loud crash, a number of his friends and allies came crashing through the door.
"Right on time," laughed Cyvus Vail. With a quick incantation, the lights went out, and when they came back up, everyone but Angel was shrouded in red cloaks.

"Well, Angel, now's your chance. Your friends are all here, we're all here. Now let's settle this. Who are you going to kill first. Don't worry, we'll all help you decide."

Even if this were the case, and I were mafia, which I am not, winning a game because you don't like the fact that I won the last game AND FOR NO OTHER REASON is a really, really un-fun way to play the game.

This is the sort of argument that sporting players never advance, unless they are mafia (don't care about the means, just the ends)

I take offense to that. I did extremely well in the past two games I was not mafia (Star Wars/Zack) and the Left 4 Dead which was a team game and neither team was bigger than the other and they had similar abilities so I dispute that it was an example of what we would call "mafia".

What outside knowledge could you have about this game on day one which is legal or fair to have if it is relevant to the game?

What outside knowledge could you have other than how I play in other games, thereby making it personal?

It is you who have made it about me, and my response is to vote for people who vote for me because I am askthepizzaguy and for no other reason.

Your reasoning is flawed. I don't like these tactics either. Sorry. My vote remains on you so long as you're voting for me.

If I am lynched it will serve to illustrate why this kind of play is bad. If I am town, it shows how voting for someone because they were mafia in another game has no bearing on this one, and if I am mafia it will simply prove if you vote for me 1st every game eventually you will be right, thus making 9 out of 10 games start off poorly for the town, 1 out of 10 games start off with a free mafia kill based on boring metagaming play which sort of spoils the mystery altogether, and 10 out of 10 games where I'd be ticked off for being voted first for the reason that I am askthepizzaguy.

In summary: Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame.

Sorry I'm late to the party; my job contract comes to an end a few days sooner than I expected (I thought it was the 26th, it's actually the 19th!) and I'm frantically trying to make sure my financial affairs are in order as it's going to be difficult to acquire a job over the Christmas period and I might be waiting until 2011 until I get another.

I know that real life excuses aren't particularly sporting, but I felt I should explain my absence; I'm not one for signing up for a game and not posting whatsoever, particularly a game of this size where I feel I'm able to play better... that would be unfair on both autolycus and you guys.

If your lynch of classical goes through and he turns out to be innocent, why would you focus on the deceased's opinion when you'd surely have ample ammunition for an accusation of War lord? His weak metagamey reason for voting you, his complete u-turn in his stance after the slightest bit of Pizza Pressure rather than standing his ground.

The foundations are there, to be honest, but you don't seem to want to follow through on it, which I think is quite uncharacteristic of you; you're usually a man on a mission in such situations, so why so passive?

You're putting WAYYYY more thought into this than I have for a round one vote. I think it would be silly to try to analyze either warlord or myself based on his vote on me for a bad reason and me pointing it out to him.

Vote for me, Secura. And have several others vote for me as well. If you believe I am manipulating people I can accept that as a reason for a round one vote. Don't let me get away with it if you think that's what I am doing.

That's fine, and a fair reason to lynch me. If you WERE going to lynch me (bad idea) for incorrect reasons (I'm not mafia) in a game this small, I'd prefer it done on a round when it isn't going to otherwise hurt the game outcome (like on a round with fewer suspects and more information).

Besides, I haven't actually been round 1 lynched since the Time Cube game (where I was lynched by the mafia, who went on to win the game).

And, I've never been lynched round 1 as mafia, ever, so feel free to try to end that streak.
