I think it is recommended to patch up to 1.5 for SS and TA as well.
If DLV is mod-foldered (the way SS and TA are), you won't have problems.

now i downloaded the patch 1.05 from twcenter meaning from right here
so how come the game now wants me to insert the original cd when the original cd is already inserted....

TWC doesn't hosts any patch i think you are talking about the sticky in the M2 general discussion forums i have only attached links to all the patches they are not hosted here.
It could be that you have enabled a virtual drive also or have 2 CD\DVD drives, it could be a conflict of Securom. Ask it here:-

Try looking on the TWC forums as well as the CA forums. I'm sure you're not the only one with that issue.
I popped the disk out, re-inserted it, and that solved my problem.
I was lucky to find out that my Gold Edition comes with patch 1.5 included on DVD.
Only trick was it wasn't installed automatic - had to choose it manually later on through exploring DVD. But hey, why to download something you already have![]()
