    Revolutions are, as everyone knows, so damn ******** annoying. I conquered Venice with France and chose to loot it instead, three turns later I have two full stacks of four experience Hussars + Line Infantry!!! Garibaldi appeared 50 years later, not during Napoleon's time...

    Any way I can scale down the revolutions?

    Second, battles -> cannons
    I might be dumb but I just want to know whether if it's possible to capture the cannons from the enemy?

    The revolutionary forces seem to be connected to the province's wealth, so I think tearing down all economic buildings helps. I did that in France once, and only got militia in the stacks instead of the elite crack forces that usually show up.

    You can't capture additional cannons to form new units or something, but if the guns of one of your artillery units have been destroyed, that units' men can man an enemy's I think.

    It's a damn shame you can't capture cannons, it was a part of the real deal so why can't we. But then again, capturing banners are not included either. Maybe in Napoleon II

    Revolutionary armies are a bit overpowered sometimes, tad unrealistic but I still fight them myself, hopefully they will win and I have a new opponent to crush later on.

    That's exactly why I asked. Spoils of war -> cash, cannons and banners.
    Turns out we can't do that apart from looting a city.

    Well actually you can sort of capture enemy's cannons.
    But only if you are able to rout the enemy unit from it's cannons.

    See you have to switch your own artillery unit to melee and click to attack the enemy. They will leave their cannon and run for the enemy. Well then you just assign them again but now to the enemies cannon that were abandoned.
    You can't move the cannon anymore though, since the horses will have fled.

    But this is quite handy with for instance mortars.
    I had a battle once in Empire which said that you could only use mortars. So my enemy fled out of the range of my mortars but he kept his mortars in front of his army to fire at my troops. I quickly killed the unit with cav and assigned my mortar unit to his mortars. With my army as cover I could use those to fire at him.
