Default How Good are Battle Captians?

I've noticed in some of my battles, the Captain (always dressed in fancier armour and with a sword) can often last a very long time. I've seen him kill at least 15 guys before dying himself. So, is his combat stats around the same as a DM Feudal Knight? Does anyone know his stats?

He has 2HP I think. And plate armor.
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

    Huh?

Also, I just remembered. Captains have the stats of the unit they're from, except have plate armor and 2hp. So basically, if the captain is attached to a unit of peasants, they just gave a farmer some shiny armor and a rubber sword and told him to fight.

I rarely auto-resolve. The only time I do it is if I couldn't win the battle (they have a crapton of cavalry and I don't have any spearmen, horse archers, or heavy cavalry), or sometimes if it's an offensive siege. Like when the enemy has less guys than I do. If I outnumber them and a-r I typically loose a lot less guys than if I did it myself. Everything else I fight.

I don't like to auto-resolve because the AI always damages my most valuable unit the most. That said, as a working stiff with limited time it would simply take too long to fight every battle. I did just have a General's unit and a unit of Polish Nobles beaten by a single Peasant archer unit though on ar. Both my units lost half their numbers, and the Peasants didn't lose a single man! It should have been a heroic victory for those peasants :d

That's why you put your units in the order of infantry, cavalry, horse archers.
