Useless Units

The Royal Bavarian Life Regiment is weaker and more expensive than Storm Troopers.

Also, do flame throwers have any use at all? Since the AI never keeps its infantry behind the defences what is the point of this unit?

The Italian Arditi are certainly fascinating but are they any use at all? I try to deploy them as close to enemy lines as possible with snipers on the flanks and covering artillery fire, but this never works.

As a side note, is there any way to protect the general? I try to run his unit back and forth all over the place but the artillery shells inevitably decimate them. I would like to see some sort of General's Bunker.

1) Yeah. In the future they will also be recruitable much earlier. I mean an old-style Guard < Stormtroopers
2) Yeah. You just have to know how to use them.
3) Well this is something I'm working on, they are admittedly not quite good enough for their role, but this shall be changed.
4) Yes, and in update 4.5 they will become dimountable and a smaller unit which will in turn mean they are a more difficult target.

I have recently discovered that Arditi can be good if you deploy them on the flanks or rear of the enemy formation. The AI will ignore the Arditi if they are getting sniped allowing them to close in. However, their limited stamina is ther main problem with this unit.

I'm glad to hear that regarding General's bodyguard. However, these changes may not be enough. Generals need to be able to erect some sort of defence.
