Default Why the difference in price?

I've been looking around at different AMD gpu's and I have found that some version of the same model have a large price range. For example, when I looked up prices for the 6850 on Google I saw prices from $170 to $240. The same for 58xx models. I now wonder, is there a difference in performance between different manufacturers or are some people just trying to rip you off?

there are differences on how much factory overclock those cards have, the bundles that goes with it, the warranty.......

I see. Is the margin of price usually equal with the increase of performance?

    No.

But there are plenty of variables to take into account.

The cooler might be different. Could be a different design (non reference PCB), may come with a game, etc etc.

In other cases, some brands are just more expensive than others.

Well, I mean, sometimes the pricing is in line with the performance increase but I don't consider an overclocked card with no other changes any different from a normal card. It's a simple 2 minute BIOS change that anybody could do for free.

$30 for a little tag on the sticker and 1 minute in CCC. Not worth it at all.

Ah. So, do your research for specifics or just go with the lowest price...

^That's the thing just like buying other commodities.
Greater difference could be due to like 1GB to 2GB of VRAM etc which all this have been explained earlier.
