Hey guys, yeah, I'm new, but I think I have a good idea. Having Anglo-Saxon blood I would like to see the last days of Saxon England go out in a blaze of glory. The Fyrd was called, war was upon them. With the Norwegians and the Flemish attacking from the North and East the Normans were too overwhelming. But could have the outcome have changed? I will join the group as a tedious coder, doing the annoying code work. I have experimented with 3d art and texturing, but I was practicing with Wings3D which doesn't work on my new laptop. Of course I still need to fix this annoying .dll error thing I get when I try to unpack.
So, I think I need to get that error thing fixed first before I can even start brainstorming for the mod. Any help welcomed! Hope I can fit in here!
Milkshape is certainly better than Wings3D, its almost designed to be used for Medieval 2 modding
there is a reason why the majority of modders here uses it, other more advanced usualy use 3Dmax
Hmm, is it free? Just don't want to try something new, might as well try it if I can't fix that .dll error thingy.

Nevermind, I found that you need a license, and it costs, I'm not gonna try it if something goes wrong or I can't use it. I will just try to find a way to fix the error, anyone know how?

Sounds like a good mod. If you want Anglo-Saxons you could also check my mod Heiğinn Veğr: Total War (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=367081) or the Last Kingdom, which can be found in the Kingdoms: Hosted mods section. I'd love to have you help with coding for my mod if you want!
I will think about it, but Last Kingdom ends a year before the Norman Invasion, and yours starts a bit too early and doesn't give too much time after the Invasion. I would like to focus on maybe 30-5 years before and 40-50 years after the Invasion it's self. That way I can really display the tension of the Invasion before and the fight against the Invaders. I would like to see the player fighting little things like Gryffin (spelled correct?) and his rampage of Wales, Tostig's Exile, fighting rebels, spreading North, slowly vuilding their forces, and then the Norwegians come and take Samwich, (again, spelled right? I know it's not the sandwich spelling, well whatever) whith guess, who? Tostig. Tehn of all things the Normans come. I want to see the Saxons either go down in a blaze of glory or rally and fight off the invaders like they couldn't before. I will consider it though, as a last resort. Maybe I could leave off at 1080 and start somewhere around 1035 or something, so it would be like leaving off at the vanilla game.
Actually, I think I will join the mod, as long as we can have the end date slightly farther so the aftermath of the invasion could be felt. I am willing to negotiate openly, PM me please.
