[RS 2.1a] Legion ancillaries

Thanks guys for helping me out + rep for both of you

This crown of epirus trait is confusing. AcquireAncillary Crown_Of_Epirus chance 100 this is the last line in the file. The conditions to this trait are that the leader, or successor of a faction MUST be in a settlement at the end of a turn to get this. I also assume the 100 at the end of the line means that this happens 100% of the time if they have not got it yet and are also in a settlement. Would changing this to 0 in the roman data file do anything if this is the ancillary causing the problem? Or would it just break everything?

I'm no modder, im just brainstorming and trying to help you guys

cheers. are the files for the data folder the same for the play_rome folder? because there is no data in the ORIG PLAY_ROME ANCILLARY folder

They're the same thing...
but for Play_Rome, just copy the export_desc_ancillaries.txt and the text folder from the Data folder

UPDATE: I checked around for the messy ancillary...I found that the Praetorian one has a little error...
It should work fine now and it should be save-game compatible...

since my submod only changes the legion ancillaries, their descriptions and their triggers, It's going to work...

now Iam going to give it a whirl ...I knew that it would take a view versions until it works
if you dont mind I will throw it into my expansion for Rome 1Turn which is probably finished by the end of the week. Since we dont know when patch 2.2 comes I like to avoid that people have to constantly installing new things. So I make a complete pack.

Is the Praetorian Ancillaire removed or does it work properly ? And more important will the player only get it in Rome ?

yup...It was really hard spotting the errors and trying to look for bugs...
but it came out right in the end

one little more thing....
maybe it would be a good idea to add an "install notes" for both 0 and 1Turn as you did not posted it and the readme does no have either....
there are a lot of people not familar with this sort of stuff and are able to mess totally up something that simple like a copypaste

I did do that as well. followed instructions fully. I am going to unistall and do a reinstall. I have a feeling something is corrupt, and just going to start from scratch. Thank you for your responses! I really want to play with the ancillaries!

Well, i am pretty excited. spent some time trying to get it to work, and i finally go the legion ancs working. However, I still do not see an praetorian ancs. no one is getting them. i have spent through many turns, destroyed, rebuilt buildings, countless generals, and no one has the ancs.

i am using version 1.4 with patch 2.1a
i redownloaded the mod.
i placed all the files in the correct spot.

I must still be doing something wrong.

did you check all of your generals in Rome thoroughly?
i'm guessing one of them has it...scroll down their list of ancs...

1. Typo? Isn't it Emporiae?

and IsGeneral
and SettlementName Emporion
and SettlementBuildingExists >= imperial_legion
and not FactionwideAncillaryExists Roman_V_Legion

2. The city's Patavium and Arretium are bugged. When i recruit a general or assign a governor (with space for the legio ancillary) to either one of them, the game crashes.


3. Praetorian anc doesn't come

Someone with similar problems?

Edit: did some testing with version 1.0 and everything works fine, execpt the praetorian anc.

it is Emporiae in-game...
Emporion is like the "internal" name...

I look into it...Patavium and Arretium...

Now that's weird...I'll take a look at the triggers and conditions...

I had exactly the same problem

i'm working on it...
in the mean time try 1.0...Fuchs said it works fine
(I guess you'll have to make do with no praetorian anc until i release a new version)

Drecie I've een getting an error message saying ancillarie does not exist after u downloaded the mod. I then replaced the whole data folder and Rome data folder and i'm getting a different ancillarie error message. Do you know what the problem is.

Just for the record, I'm not blaming you but the technical help forum told me you were the only one who could help.
