    Default Pavise Spear Militia

    Hello, installed the mod relatively recently and I must say that I am impressed! However, I've encountered an odd problem.

    Playing as Genoa, or the Sicilians (late campaign) I noticed that I had a building capable of recruiting Pavise Spear Militia and actually had Pavise Militia is my armies from the start.... Yet even though it seemed I was CAPABLE of recruiting them, they're not in the tab of recruitment in the city at ALL. I don't play with Grim Reality, so it's not I don't have a general capable of recruiting them, and I have RR on so it's not a problem with that..... What do I do?

    I noticed this with some other factions as well i think you just start with some in your armies like as crusader states you start with some Knights of St. Lazarus but you have to build loads of stuff before you can actually recruit them yourself

    They are based in Antioch, so you could say that you have them from the survivors, and alas can not get any more at the time starting. You do not have Antioch I think at start game. Regardless, it is rather odd.

    Starting units in the late campaign is somewhat weird. As HRE, you start with Mailed Knights but on the following turn Mailed Knights are then IMPOSSIBLE to recruit, Feudals have replaced them. After 80% depletion, you better disband old units and replace them by new Feudal ones. I used to tweak descr_strat get only recruitable units at the start of the game (I mean start as Turn number 2).

    And let us not forget starting with, of all things, Varangian Guard in Early Period ERE games.
    I went nuts for the first ten minutes trying to figure out how to build more of them, until I looked them up in the files, and to my disgust had a half dozen decades to go. Hah

    Alright, I discovered the problem, it seems England has the same problem with their Longbowmen. The first turn, they don't seem to exist, but your second turn, they come back.

    Yeah, it's been a bug for some time now. The same thing happens with Danemark, and other factions. Some units take even longer to show up in the pools depending on their replacement rates. (this was for RR/RC not 6.3, but some things remained the same). I think it took a few turns for urban spear militia to show up when I played as Sicily, and even longer (even though you should have been able to get them at turn 1).

    Its think some kind of bug with M2TW, because most of the code specifies that there is 1 unit available in the pool of all available units at start. However, it also seems to happen more often with units that are dependent on events to appear.

    I thought Varagian guards were there for a historical accuracy reason as someone explained before...
