    Default Terrible lag in-game

I haven't played NTW since a while, and this evening I thought I wanted to do a quick campaign. It all went fine in the menu (+100 FPS), but then in campaign I got 7 FPS. I uninstalled the mods, and then tried a battle. Same FPS gain. Restarted the computer, resseted the driver settings, completely uninstalled and then reinstalled the game, scanned my comp with BitDefender, but the lag persists.

What may the problem be? I have the same comp as I did 2 weeks ago, where it ran at +40 FPs in battles, and all the rest of the games run fine, including it's brother ETW. I'm also using the old&good drivers. What may the problem be?

When you deleted the mods, did you also delete the scripts folder and verify your game cache inetgrity?

How do you do that? (My current computer was created only in order to play ETW on highest settings, which I did. However, now I play NTW with a mod and experience some lag in battles... note: units are bigger in this mod.)

    http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...-Napoleon.html for the scripts folders.

    http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...ame-cache.html for cache integrity.

And DarthMod uses larger unit sizes.

Thanks a lot for the quick answer.

Yup Darth does... but so does "Europe in Conflict" for NTW. (Militia 360, lines 280... that's really something, but I refuse to believe this is responsible for lag.)

Are you running an ATI card? If so, every time you update your drivers, the "HD Audio device" is also activated in your Device Manager, creating a 2nd audio stream from your computer (on top of your normal audio device). If you have this, you need to disable the new HD device, because it causes alot of lag.

Good point, Nanny. Also, did you reinstall your motherboard chipset drivers?

Install your motherboard chipset drivers, then let us know if it works. Also, in Nvidia's Control Panel be sure it's set "application controlled" for the game.

If prebuilt as in Dell or HP, what is your computer's make and model?
If custom, what is your motherboard make and model?

Did Toshiba supply a setup cd with it? Trying to find them on Toshiba's website is a nightmare.

Is there a support number in their owner's manual? Your best bet.
