Mongol Invasion

When I was playing as the Turks or Egyptians and the Mongol invasion happens, I noticed that whenever the Mongols capture one of my cities, it dosen't fall to them but to rebels. I see a rebel flag over it once the Mongols capture it. Also, sometimes during a seige, my troops spawn outside of the city walls. I think I have the latest update so I don't know what's going on.

I don't know. I rarely get far enough for the Mongols to show up.
Dod you have Kingdoms? Are you playing any mods?
I have not played Vanilla since before 1.2 was released.

I'm playing the original version without any mods. I was playing as the Turks and saw the Mongols invading. I thought I was done for when they capture my city but it just turned out to be held by rebles after the seige.

thats not a bug, they sacked it without taking it, like in rtw:bi hording factions did

So it's a part of the game? But they do it to every single settlement they capture. They don't settle in it like they did before. I used to say "the mongols have finally settled."

There is no reason why they just can't raze it and move on. It would be historically correct..

Yeah, all the mongols did was burn cities down to the ground.

The Mongols always go for a certain settlement (normally Antioch, Jerusalem, Constantinople or Kiev) and attack all settlements that are in their way viciously, sacking and pillaging them before leaving them to move on towards their target.
After the Mongols has sacked a settlement, it will thereafter become independent (rebel).

Usually, the Mongols go for Antioch or Kiev - if you have any of them - otherwise, they seem to just pillage around until they get tired and decide to go after whichever key region that is closest.
