Hi.
I did a extensive research about bribing the awesomerebel general in Valencia, El Cid. I learnt that without cheating its absolutely impossible. Actually, cheating just a bit (add_money 9999999999, or whatever amount, and try to bribe) wont work. He is just too cool for such mundane issues
.
First you have to remove all his cool traits, and give him bribing-tendency ones. And having a superdiplomat as well.
So I did so, and at the end I get an offer of bribing, of the city, the guard, and the general itself. I paid, and I got the city, the guard.... but not El Cid! He was inside Valencia (which it was mine now), but still as rebel general. I couldn't select him, cause he was still enemy. Although I could manage the city, move troops and other generals in and out. So, I tried giving the region to other faction, then my troops will be expelled, which did happened, so El Cid did too, staying in my unit stack, still as rebel. One by one, I moved the units away from the stack, leaving El Cid, alone in the campaign map.... but invisible! I still could select him (knowing where it was) to watch his traits ("El Cid the Gambler" now - "this guy has become a sink of money"
), and also negotiate with him. I did so, to bribe him again..... but he wont accept again, even offering him 9999999999 florins. At that point I gave up, load previous saved game, and just kill him
According to some posts, in vanilla (or kingdoms, I don't remember) people has been able to get him by bribe, with the trick of getting his traits away.
So, my question is:
Is there something different or special in SS with El Cid?
Would I be able to get him (even cheating, I don't care)?
Thanks very much in advance
Awesome mod btw!
