    That's great!

BTW quick question: Will troop movements be adjusted for the smaller area the map covers?

Everybody ready to come back for the final push?

I also have agraes and some others working on the unit code. Spurius will need to sort out some tec trees etc, building lists and some other details.

I've sent Zhuge a dl link for the bi map installer, so anyone who wants to check his work with, it or is interested in contributing can PM him for it.

My suggestion would be to start importing the units first, and see if there are any model problems in 1.6, and THEN proceed with introducing other unknowns. Same as with converting that map, it only takes a day or so, but only if you take it step by step, from one working version to the next. When you try to change everything all at the same time, or go for an 'easy' experiment halfway, I'd probably still be busy 'converting' it at this moment, I guess.

Well, I'd better get back to work on character names etc. Also Spurius, I'll need to take a quick look over the province and city names, because as I remember some of them needed revision.

If you check the factions and unit progress in the dev forum, it should be pretty obvious which ones are ready or nearly so, and those would need some name files, indeed. As to the provinces/settlement names, just dl the map installer and see what needs changing, but remember it's not really crucial to the working of the program - one region is indeed called Region_02 and Settlement_02 - so take your time - finishing the map details and other assorted eye candy would be nice to have ready for something like a beta.

Those character names tho, it sure would be nice to have those in a few days or so, so once the units are in, a whole faction can be finished, familywise, and we can concentrate on the next one.

Don't know what they used for building the map, really - only inherited it, and I converted it by hand using a good editor/paint program, basically. PS, PSP or Gimp would do, and I suggest everybody check out a program like UltraEdit as a REAL text editor, leaving Wordpad as not more than a typing window, by comparison.

There are actually some artefacts in some of the submaps that indicate some program WAS used in creating the heights and groundmap - the mountains look like they are the output of some program, they are a bit too identical to my taste... I'm not sure I'd use one of those instant editors myself, in short, and this is more rewarding, too. But that's just me.

AFAIK there is no do-it-all program or even tutorial on how to convert even existing (working) maps to newer versions RTW... maybe when I break a leg or so...
