Default Next Game in TW series? (Link from Dev)

I know this doesn't belong here, but I found this. I'll leave it here >o>. Its about the next game in the series and people who are hoping for a WW1/WWII TW might be happy that it's on the list of possibles.

Rome 2 or WW1-TW... They usually make a new game then follow up with a remake. Napoleon was previously going to be an expansion so I guess that is reason enough to excuse the chain.

There is no chain. The first 3 games were all original ideas. There has only been 1 remake amongst 5/6 games. Just because the difference between M2TW and TWS2 is one game doesn't mean it will continue to be that way.

And the article is meaningless. We know they have all options open to them including fantasy. Doesn't mean they will do it though.

Shogun, Med, Rome, Med-2, Etw, Napoleon (originally an expansion), Shogun-2.... Seems like the start of a chain to me. Ofcourse you cant make a new game make another and the remake the last it would be a slow cycle. They had three games that they could build on later on.

Rome 2 is what everyone wants, but thats also why many still play Total War because their waiting so if we were to get another empire like game after Rome-2 then you'd probably lose a lot of the fans. Ofcourse thats all theory.

I hope they stay as far away from ww1 or ww2 as humanly possible. I'm sick of guns and I want to lead my king on the battlefield!

Wow, they haven't even mastered line battles and they want to advance into the guerrilla warfare tactics of Modern Day? that.

    This.

But it would be hard and time-consuming, especially for CA who would have big headaches in making such a complex game. (WW2 and Cold War would be impossible)

Not that time consuming. They had trenches in Empire. Well, sort of. Just take those and shove them inside the ground and make 'em part of the scenery.

Then all you have to do is mega-size the existing artillery effects, tweak in the engine, add planes and tanks and subs and presto ! you're get to go !

The type of warfare represented in TW games doesn't resemble WW2 warfare at all, and I doubt they'd be able to pull it off properly. Besides, there are plenty of WW2 strategy games already that are pretty good.
    Please don't do this.

There are enough fantasy Real time strategy games out there along with turn based strategy...My two picks would be US Civil War or Rome 2

I would love to see what a WW1 TW would look like,no need for a WW2 one,it would be pretty much like men of war or company of hero's, we have all seen that, the interest would be low.
But i would bet my right nut that it would be Rome 2 or even a Chinese based one, from a business point of view those 2 are where the money is at.
