Why do so many grown men use little anime girls as their forum avatars?

Well, why? It always puzzled me ..

On this forum? Or others?

Who in this forum use loli as avatar besides a few I know?? Who??

You forget 99.999999999999% of people do not believe profiles whens it comes to genders stated.

Also I know a great reason!!! Perhaps some men have a feminine side in which they like to express with cute cartoon girls, rather than sexual depraved swim suit models in their underwear? Because I know someone who absolutely adores nekos.... half cat half human characters, I mean the ears and the tails, not like furry bodies and such like those furry lovers. He does not care the gender either when it comes to neko art and always uses nekos in avatars and such.

For I love cute combined with uniforms, I adore uniforms! Fan art with characters in uniform is great, normally more perfect than someone in the real deal in a photograph because in anime perfection does exist. Like my avatar is of a anime girl crossed with a German WWI BattleCruiser. She even has a Pour Le Merite Prussia equal to the Medal of Honor, eta eta, fun history on why it is in French to. I need to find the name of it but it's something in which people like drawing anime like girls as though they were cross breed with a tank or a airplane or a ship. Sometimes wonder how they could possible move. xD

I think that is exactly what make things even worse...

I have always wondered this as well. Having friend who always/90% of the time chooses a female char. when playing a game, girl anime avatar, he wears shirts with fairy girls and other types ect........

But I suppose just talking about the avatars having that is no stranger then a pic of of anything else.(Gun,Spear,Zombie,Comedian ect.....)

I do agree with Lumina about expressing there feminine side,that seems most likely.

For other forums, let say an anime one there are otakus who like that..."Moe" stuff, usually that will make anyone from legitimate japanese people to anyone freaked out. The hot on for underdevelop, naive and underaged girls just because some dude develope a father complex for them. Other than that or did what Lum did with his display picture, dude just like cute things.

or it just cute, for real are people so dang insecure about their manhood that their penis will automatically transform into a vagina once they put up a picture of buttercups as an avatar that its becoming an issue?

as far as video games go, maybe they enjoy staring at a female characters butt more than a males
