    Default New to NTW

    hello fellow ntw gamers

im new to the forum and relatively new to Napoleon multi players and i have a few questions

first question is i think im a very good gamer and i have lots of hours up playing counter stirke but this type of strategy game is something i like to play sometimes.

i notice alot of games in Napoleon are played but players using clan tags but there are so many different tags i am not sure which ones are used by the really good gamers. i dont want to join a clan which is full of retards, if you know what i mean.

i am looking for a group of good gamers so i thought this forum would attract most good players.

i had a good look though the thread here, titled steam multi player list ,, so is this where people are recruited to the good clans, that would be awesome.

i have played about 30 multi games now and have not lost any battles against my opponent, but have had some trouble with disconnection and they look to come up as losses in my game stats, which is very sad.

i dont want this to happen alot as i assume good clans wont want players with bad game stats, is there something i can do to help stop the disconnections

any advice? is 30 wins good enough to get on the multi player list and join a good clan?

Counter Strike is kill the enemies find the bomb and you win. Thats stupid. Constantly the same point. Play strategies like napoleon but single player to relax and if you whant multi, your choise. Solo games like COD or Wolfenstein. Thats the games you should play but NOT I say NOT Counter Strike

For single player, if you whant, i have nations exept those you have

    http://redirectingat.com/?id=3054X59...pmid%3D2295665

download this, extract it on your computer with WinZip or 7Zip, then you have folders where writes some nations. Open the folder with the nations you whant to play, copy the icon starpos and scripting and then go to folowing files click the Napoleon total war icon with right mouse button, then click propertises, find target, data, campaings mp_eur_napoleon. there you will find another starpos and sripting, they are originals. replase them with the one you copied but first move the originals where you can find them later. the starpos and the scripting you copied, paste them in mp_eur_napoleon. close everything and normal start the game. when the main menu appears click singleplayer, campaing of the coalition and the you will find the nations you puted. if this mod doesnt work, tell me.

P.S- Dont play with Courland and Ireland, because in some moment the game will crush.

    Best wishes

    Hi and welcome colitis noobis!

The Steam MultiPlayer List has nothing to do with recruiting. Its just a who is who in the forum and MP. A way to come into a good clan is to fight them and beeing good at this game. They will invite you, your stats doesnt matter, just be a challenge. Or you just ask.

Having a disconnection sometimes is quit normal. Dk, maybe 1 time in 10 games for me... sometimes the whole day not one disconnetion... only god knows. Maybe set your graphics lower, but there are several threads to this issue. Have a search.

Hm, good clans? Let me start a list, other will/can continue this:
    Huntsman
    TLG
    BsA
    Nedkil
    ...

Play them, make yourself a picture... +a search can also be helpful.

Welcome to NTW! Well...your questions have already been answered,so let me just give some general advice-

*Spread your men to 2 lines thick to maximize firepower

*France,Prussia, and Britain are the best nations (ottomans can also be effective with skilled players)

*Bring lancers or mounted rifles (shooter cav); they're more versatile and powerful than heavy cav.

*don't bring artillery to flat maps;bring them only on maps where camping is frequent

*camping means staying at or near your deployment zone; although the popular name for a camper is "n00b".Don't be one, always attack,as camping will rob you of mobility

*cav is meant to harass your opponents inf,not to be suicided

    *squares will pwn cav

*put skirmishers in front of your line inf and press the light inf button;this will make them spread out and harder to hit

    * the old guard will steamroll anything in front of it unless outnumbered

*meatshielding means putting militia in front of more valuable units to protect them,as units automatically shoot the closest unit

    *the default builds suck

*5 prussian fusiliers in light inf behavior grouped together on one flank is called "the hammer tactic".Try advancing normally against it and find out why

*skirmishers suck in melee, and are vulnerable to cav;always keep them in front of line infantry and retreat your skirms behind if they get charged

    Hope this helps

Hi i believe that some players run youtube channels that show them playing and possibly their micro you should check and see if anyone from a decent clan has been posting vids, personally i dont think you have enough games to be considered for a good clan yet my advice and i know stars mean fek all is to gain at least 5 stars in compeditive games then start to join clan games you see hosted and try to prove yourself in the games also add people you have success playing with in steam and try to learn teamplay with these people. The most important thing for a new player in NTW is to fill up a healthy sized friends list as theres no foyer. Ive seen players go from being new to being Clan warbelt tournament winners in 6 months once they get taken under a clans wing, such a player for us at wolves was kanuni a turkish guy that brought some great micro and rush builds even when he was new. The reason i say grab your 5*'s is that alot of hosts will tend to kick players with less. 5* players can still be bad players ofc but hosts will generally be willing to let you in some games if theyre not looking for clan v clan matches and maybe trying new builds etc.

Actually, that's not nearly as true for NTW as it is for ETW.
As a matter of fact, except maybe the Ottoman build in large funds, I find most of them quite solid, at least to get started until you find your own style of playing.

    QFT.
If you played someone who stomped you, maybe try to chat with him afterwards to ask for some general tips on what you did wrong. It's probably best to ask during game if it's okay by him to stay in some time or he'll leave pretty fast.

Also, save your replays and watch them again later; you can learn a lot, especially from the games you lost badly.

To get around having to decide on army setups and maps to play on, try Quick Battles. There are a lot of newbies there to play around with on your level, but also some good players you can learn from.

Join the thread but player skill has nothing to do with it. Look for games being hosted by clan members and play well, ALWAYS be polite gg's etc and no matter how much someone pisses you off try not to trash talk.

also probably put your steam name in a post or as your comment and people will remember who you are.
