    Default DOMINION: Total War

    I humbly propose a mod with something for everyone. We need a mod that has a simple foundation that can be expanded on over time to something complex and fantastic. I see all the great ideas on this website, and I think that combined we could make a better game because we are the gamers. That's not to trash the great people who made these games. I just think that you all have an extra love for the content and gameplay that can't be matched by mere salary. That being said, I propose a mod called...

    DOMINION: Total War

    1. It should take full advantage of the Kingdoms engine
    2. It should focus on ONE century...1500 - 1599 CE...the age of discovery
    3. It should be a WORLD map...yes I said it...a WORLD map. I know its possible; I've seen it on others.

    All other factos in the game are up for debate. I am not an experienced modder. I've done a little modding on the old Rome Total War. I'm more of a researcher (focusing on West African history mostly). I tried to assist with an African mod, but there weren't enough people with an interest in making the mod to keep it going. I think if we make a mod that includes the whole world, we can keep enough people in to make it actually happen.

    Suggest Factions:

    This is where we usually run into problems. Medieval II is geared towards Europe so that region would suffer the most when it came time to replace factions. I think if we stick to major nations during the period that pull units from their general region, we can make everyone happy. I've included native names whereever I could. I'd like to see those in the game where possible

    Forgot about Byzantium... Maybe Poland-Lithuania then?
    And I stand corrected on the Ak Koyunlu as well
    This is why we need people who specialize in certain regions. i tried to break up the factions into major geo-schemes...

    North America, Central America, South America
    Northeast Africa, Northwest Africa, West Africa, East Africa, Subequatorial Africa
    Western Europe , Northern Europe, Western Europe, Southern Europe, Southern Europe, Eastern Europe (Europe deserved 2 extra factions based on period importance)
    Western Asia, Southern Asia, Central Asia, Eastern Asia, Southeastern Asia, Pacific Asia, Oceanic Asia

    Akkoyunlu is a Turkish state. It founded by Oghuz tribe.

    Tried that one a while ago, but there wasn't much detail on the new factions. Plus it crashed a lot for me. I see they have updated it recently, but I can't seem to download it anywhere. I figure a world map with a lot of attention given to each region would be fantastic. Are you currently playing Eras Conquest? If so, can you provide the link to where I can download all the necessary files. Speaking of...the install of this mod...if it ever happens, should use a single exe.

    I doubt that it can be done much better than Eras Conquest, simply there are manny limitations of the M2TW engine like 30 factions, 199 regions etc...

    Finally got the Eras to work. It's okay but a bit buggy. I think simplifying it and adding the factions I suggested could make an almost perfect mod. You don't need 30 factions in my opinion...especially if you just focus on one century. My other gripe is there are few african factions with little effort put into making each one really stand out. I mean the Mali Empire has Indian American units for God's sake. That being said, i'm still playing it. i just think we can do better.
