The answer is absolute 100% if you had applied the right method crusading by ships.![]()

Deleted off topic "jokes".
But like this everything can be conquered with one turn instead of cannons one can use spies in early game to open gates place armies open all settlements and then blitz them all at once but still it requires 6-7 turns to place all the armies.
And joke was something different ½ turn ones.![]()
That is not a joke, the opening move of your princess can improve the relation with pope at second turn --relationship very good, used that opportunity to launch a crusade targeting Antioch. The real targets are Turks & Egyptians as AI wont notice this plot anyway.
By the 4th turn ur 2 fleets are already at the coast of Cairo & coast of Iconium with majority of ur troops, it sounds risk but the gamble will pay off. There were plenty of cheap mercenaries at both sides of the mediterranean seas even at early stage of the grand campaign. Yes Bro, you can say I am mad & unconventional. Ur daring speed will be the winner at early in the game, but must be careful of the Mongols. Byzantine will be next target anyway.
It is logical to wreck both giants at early onslaughts, otherwise they will gain strength by strength. At Italian Peninsular no body will challenge u as Pope, Milan & Venetians had their own troubles. U would be save at least 10 turns before anyone would trouble u. By then u will have richest land in the Middle East, then enjoy ur fruit of this gamble.
Plz gave me the nickname Speed demon, lol. That is my way bro!

I will empty almost every recruited units from both sides of Sicilian army on an adventure crusade at 2nd turn, AI wont be able to tell how many troops u had at Italian peninsular at opening stage . In that kind of scenario is really thrilling man, that is worth of using every resources to win this expedition. The returned rate would 5-6 times of current earning. 2 sultanates will be conquered in 6th-7th turns, amazing right?
No babe, I am just sharing my experience with u.
I am not trying to boast my ability, but tell u the best way for Sicily to get quick & efficient way to expand the empire at an opening stage.
If you want Moors as ur first target the rewards will be limited, as Spain & Portugal could shared the fruits of ur hard labour.
Try this way babe, ur will be surprised by this radical strategy move is going to work if ur had time.

So... this thread is meant to boost your own ego?
Crusade and Jihad blitzing is very effective. (actually Jihad can be called on turn 1, so better at this)
There is a video somewhere from a turkish forum member who destroyed byzantium in 5 turns, while profiting about 30k.
The thing is, it is not really fun to rape a defensless AI nation IMHO.
If you like blitzing (I prefer role playing over breaking the game)
How to Conquer 50 provinces in 50 turns.
Poll: "Strategy Turks Blitz: 106 provinces / 21 turns" With cheats or not?

Hotseat is not for me but for those expert who could complete the map at 42 turns.
I am just an average player at this stage, but believe me Sicilian worked well as I had tried many attempts to ruined 2 Tigers of the Middle East.

Please don't not double, triple post. Always edit your last post if no one else has posted in that thread.
im not a fan of blitzing.i like to sit back make armies huge battles and upgrade my cities to have the best armies.however im impressed with some people's achievements especially with the guy who conquered all regions with turks in 21 turns.that was sick
Im playing in a lot of hotseats though and blitzing cant happen there.people will get you if you start to expand dangerously.
Ok that is ur choice, the opening stage is full of opportunities & risks. Sicily is not an obvious to target for potential rivals. If you try them to conquer the rest of Europe with Northern European powers is no easy task as the POPE will stop u anyway if money is not paid in turns. The early crusading privileges is meant for Italian States. If creators of the game was trying hide this opportunities for those fat cats of Italians. It would be a waste not to get those opportunities to strike rich & powerful at early in the game.
I dont like to be sit back & wait to be strangled those northern neighbors. It would be unwise for a wait & see game. Honestly I like to be on adventures of small factions at early the game & sit back relaxed at later part of campaign.
Thanks Big Bro for reminding me, I will put more attention on editing the threads
