maybe they built the special building "federal reserve bank" and are just making money out of thin air trying to implode their own economy
Maybe someone agreed to be a protectorate for them and is giving them outlandish money for it.
It will be the protectorate they got for sure. I got the same thing in my game but with the averni. I heard this will be fixed.
I sacked 4 Carthagian towns in Africa. A slew of carthagian armies (where they got the money from is beyond me, I sacked the 4 money ports) came in and took me out. THey came in endless waves.
It was as if the armies I slaughtered came back from the grave in relentless numbers with ridculously stacked armies. I'm talking about half peltasts, 2 elephants and the rest Eilte african pike men.
Something ain't wight. Something ain't wight ad all.
Yeah the insane money drops takes the fun out of the game. It's no fun when you know that blocking all their ports, capturing all but 1 of their cities wont do crap because they will receive 1 million cash the next turn anyways.
At the start of my first game my neighbour faction had 2-3 full stacked armies...it really takes the "feel" out of the game.

I am exagerating obviously, but it is more annoying than it is fun. This is also the main reason I don't play on higher than medium difficulty levels: I don't believe in unfair advantages, just to make it more fun/harder. I want it to be FAIR. If I struggle for money with Casse, for example, I want the AI to struggle for money as Casse as well.

Then I suggest you don't play RTW at all, because by doing so you already violate your "belief." You have an untold number of "unfair" advantages over the AI. First and foremost being that you can actually think, and it is run via static lines of code.
I suppose that is a good point, and I didn't mean to offend, this is simply the best mod ever, but there are of course flaws. It is my humble opinion that simply giving the AI lots of money when it is totally unrealistic, is very annoying for the player who has worked hard to fight the AI.Originally Posted by Khelvan
Still, love the mod lots and look forward to a future patch.

Seems to be the result of the Arverni becoming a protectorate of Iberia then... perhaps the scripting (I assume) that ensures the AI factions don't run out of money is helping to fuel the unbelievable surge in Iberia's wealth? Last time I checked Iberia had close to a million mnai![]()
Guys since the beta is only based on 1.2 the only way to challenge oneself is economically. I am sure that after all the suggestions and the porting to the newest patch this will balance itself out. If it wasn't for the economics everyone would steamroll over the AI and would call this mod easy and complain about it.
And a suggestion for some people is to actually try on easy....... yes I said it EASY. It doesn't make you less of a man playing at medium or easy campaignIf you insist playing on VH then you will suffer the consequances as I have discovered.
I look forward to future versions, for now I am in a assasination spree against all those who try to bribe my Greek empire!!!!! Although I am surprised one of my settlements was bribed by Casse, I mean they are barbarians they can't bribe a civilized peoples as the Greeks. They will pay dearly!!! Prepare for the Hellenic invasion you bastards.......
ahem... I'll just mention that I thought I'd point this out because I thought it was something of an oddity... with that, back to the game![]()
