A few small mod proposals.
I have looked around the downloads for a few specific things and it seems they either have not been made yet or I somehow overlooked it, so I would like to make a few small mod proposals for the vanilla game.
1. A fix for English partial plate.
The coloring is different from the normal english textures, a fix could give the cloth on english partial plate the same coloring as what is used for other units. I believe the full plate is a little off too but its not that noticeable.
2. New models for Hashashims.
I just feel this unit should stand out and should not look like common soldiers. Perhaps something black could work, I wouldnt even be opposed to an assasin's creed version. (which could actually be quite cool despite probably not being accurate.)
3. More appealing colors for Hungary.
The soft pink and light green is not very appealing. I am fine with the vanilla textures, its just the colors that I don't like. Perhaps the colors could be made darker? Especially the battlefield assasins could use something darker if they are supposed to be good at hiding.
4. a few additional units to round out the not so unique factions.
This is likely the most difficult thing. I know there are plenty of big mods out there that add a lot of units, but they add a lot of things I dont want as well. I just would like some additional unique units for the factions with a small roster to make them more appealing, and I am sure I am not alone in that.
Here are a few suggestions, they may not always be accurate but its just suggestions.
Scotland.
-Highlander swordsman.
Highlanders armed with swords, when fully upgraded they could have the same armor as unupgraded highland nobles. In general they could be a somewhat tougher version of the highlanders, but without the armor piercing ability.
-Highlander cavalry.
An early cavalry unit, these mounted highlanders could be lightly armored and be armed with small axes. A weaker version of huscarls.
-Arquebusiers.
Not a unique unit, just an additon.
-Galloliach.
Heavy axemen normally only available as mercenaries, could be added to their roster.
Sicily.
-Muslim light cavalry.
Light javelin throwing cavalry from the muslim population which could be represented better than only through a single archer unit.
-Heavy Axemen.
Copied from the Danes, this unit could show the Norman roots.
Milan.
-Sword and buckler men.
Not a unique unit, but a good addition to their foot units.
Egypt.
-Dismounted Mamluks.
Armed with swords and shields, they can make a good counter against dismounted knights.
-Nubian cavalry.
Light and cheap spear armed cavalry consisting out of Nubians.
Turks.
-Janissary swordsmen.
A counter for dismounted knights, they could be superiour to dismounted mamluks.
Moors.
-Archer militia.
Not a unique unit but a copy from Egypt. The moors did not use the crossbow almost exclusively after all.
Hungary.
-Dragon Knights.
Representing the historical order of the dragon, these noble knights could inspire other troops on the field.
-Romanian swordsmen.
Light swordsmen armed with a small shield and a slightly curved sword, the same one that hussars use.
Poland.
-Dismounted Polish Retainers.
Fighting as light swordsmen, they could expand the polish infantry roster a bit.
