i just bought Europa Universalis III complete during this paradox massive sale (70% off!!) and all the undiscovered parts of the map are white


this doesn't look/sound right.. or is it just like that?

It's called terra incognita, basically fog of war. It represents lands and seas that are unknown or haven't been sufficiently mapped. You can remove it by taking the Quest for the New World idea which lets you recruit conquistadors and explorers which you can attach with your armies and navies respectively in the place of generals. They let your navies and armies move into the terra incognita, revealing it for you.

i assumed if it wasn't a graphical problem or some kind of glitch or corrupt installation it has to be the fog of war, but it's soo ugly i had my doubts

yeah EU3 map is not the prettiest thats for sure(specially as you say the unexplored areas anything would be better than that LOL . But a modder of your abilities will have no problem fixing it (there are already plenty of map beautifying mods though check out the paradox forums

Don't worry ! The new expansion 'Divine Wind' is going to improve the graphics of the game.
