Default Question for more experience players

Does one have to always obey senate orders? I am just started playing as Scipii (blue?) for the first time and successfully completed first mission (taking Syracuse after heroic battle) but now they are ordering me to take some town in Africa (forget the name) which I cant even reach in time let aside to rise army to do it. Until now I played as Julii and their orders were little more manageable. What can I do?

if you can't or don't want to do the senate missions you don't have to.

that's correct and if you wanna play past 50 provinces with no civil war (mad praetorians ) just keep them happy by taking the senate missions (not all of course)

6.0 victory conditions are 155 provinces, no 50 province wins. lol Of course you can still play short campaigns.

Yes the AI is better with 6.0 but that is because its better with the 1.5 patch, not much but it is noticeable.
