Never thought Id see this actor in a Roman swords and sandals movie.
Looks better than Centurion.
"The desire for safety stands against every great and noble enterprise." Tacitus on Health & Safety
"Abuse, if you slight it, will gradually die away; but if you show yourself irritated, you will be thought to have deserved it." Tacitus on trolling
i wanna see more veriaty with the romans movies and movies that will actually be on real events such as

the last days of the roman empire. before the gothes sacked rome
the judea rebelion and the destruction of the second temple
spartacus rebelion. i know this was made allready but it wasent good enough. i wanna see a really good acrutte movie. there is this series spartacus sand and blood but its ridicolus with stupid gci everywhere 300 style
Looks worse than Centurion.
Have we not already had this thread?
And yes, please more variety! centuries of history and we have another lost legion? I despair. I think it's because they lack a budget to portray huge battles or something.
I cannot believe a Roman would trust a slave that much - or is there a backstory that I am missing? If there's a suitable backstory it may be believable.
More variety.
It doesn't even have to be war.
Something like Quo Vadis from Sienkiewicz would do![]()
quo vadis?with all that senseless nero bashing?
no thanks
Seems meh, but don't most Roman movies seem meh to us?
I was unaware of how the ancient Scots were cowboy ninjas.
Bitter is the wind tonight,
it stirs up the white-waved sea.
I do not fear the coursing of the Irish sea
by the fierce warriors of Lothlind.
the most realistic romans were in the passion of christ
i dont like how in every movie about the romans. the romans are british actors. the strong english accent just dosent fit at all.
one of the reason that i dont like hbo rome so much. i prefer american actors as romans just becuse their accent isnt that strong as the english ones
but if you ask me italian actors are the best choice. fit perfectly. autenthic. probaly cheaper then american ones.

What Eire said. How can you possibly know what the heck the Romans sounded like? English, as a language didn't even exist back then and I'm sure the English spoken today would be incomprehensible to the English spoken as early as four hundred years ago let alone 1500 years or so.
Its just become a common trend today to have Brits play period characters. Nothing more than a trend. For all that the movie cares, the Scots should have Scottish accents and the Romans should be anything other than Brits to get the real foreign feel.
As for what I think. I'll probably watch it, parts will intrigue me, my I'm not holding my breath for anything amazing or brilliant. I'll settle for Fairly good if i can get it.
Under the Patronage of Lord Condormanius
British actors are usually preferred because they are just better quality than American ones.
This film looked bad btw. And whats with trailers these days giving away the entire plot of the movie?
