Knights of honor and win 7 question.

I recently installed knights of honor on my windows 7 64 system. Installation went fine but when i try to run the game i get the following error....."Conflict: a kernal problem has occurred. Please disable all Anti-Virus programs and debuggers."
Ive disabled antivirus,tried running it as admin,in xp compatability mode as well as choosing a diff install path then the program files. The same error comes up.
Any help or ideas?

What AV are you using? A kernal exception is very strange - I'm wondering which program is throwing the error message.

EDIT: Actually, on second thought, please drop your DX log on us. Let's see what driver's you're running.

Problem solved.....
I installed in the reg program files instead of the program{86} files and installed the latest patch manually.....

So I have a copy of Knights of Honor but when I press install in the autoplay menu this pops up in 2 seperite windows:

"The program or feature '\??\D:\Knights of Honour\setup.exe' cannot start or run due to incompatibity with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available."

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see wether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher."

It says what it says. The game won't run on x64 OS unfortunately.
Not sure there's a workaround for this but i doubt it as the setup.exe itself is not running.

weird ive had no issues running the game on windows 7 64bit

it could be your version is older then what i have and may not be compatible.

Hey guys, thanks for responding. I have tried running it through "compatibility mode" and tried Windows XP 32-bit which is where I had it running before. It still doesn't work.

Crazyeyesreaper what do you mean? Older version of the game/windows? I got my windows last year Feb. and the game this last weekend.

Game, if yours is a hardcopy their is a chance its an OLDER hardcopy aka exe isnt up todate,

example, they produce a few million units, you see 2 on a shelf Unit A is from when the game first came out Unit B is 2 years later, they are unopened and unchanged in appearance how can you tell which is which? you can't thats my point you may have just bought it but your copy might still be older,

eitherway ive no problem running it on Windows 7 64bit game runs just fine for me, so I am not sure why its not installing for you.

but its possible that if your copy is an older version that the Exe might be 16bit and not 32bit,

16bit exes do not work on 64bit windows,

essentially

32bit OS supports 16bit and 32bit
64bit OS supports 32bit and 64bit

if the older copy is 16bit installer thats why the games not working
my copy uses a 32bit installer however and works fine.

I can't be completely sure eitherway, no issues here so ill chalk it up to bad luck or an older version.

you could however,

Use steam register Knights of Honor on steam, and play it that way, should bypass the install issue.

They gave me a 3 game pack so they didn't give me a product code. Basically put the CD in, install the games and that is it. No product key or anything.

Since I have the game though, I decided to download the game as well and see if it worked through there. It lets me install but it gives me a different error.

"Exception Processing Message 0xc0000135 Parameters 0x000007FEFD41718C"

i find it hard to believe they sold you games that have no product key, eitherway then guess your SOL, easiest fix was CD key added to your steam account.

Hi, I'm new to this forum and to this game - also a bit of a techno-phobe so need things explained a bit more basically for me to understand. I hope I'm not bumping this thread or breaking any rules but I've just installed KoH on my Win7 64-bit PC and although installation appeared to proceed without any problems the game simply will not launch. I suspect it's an older copy of the game, I purchased it second hand via eBay, so I may need a patch or something but if you can help or advise that would be great. (P.S. I did try to run it as Admin - no go; also tried to run it in XP compatibility mode set for 'All Users' but still no response). Thanks in advance.
