Default Why there isn't any mod with....

an Alpine pass that goes along the Ligurian Coast? Hannibal and his brother crossed the Alps because of Scipiis fleet and army, Massalia and Ligurians, but i don't think that in any mod Carthage controlled by AI is able to send his "Hannibal" to attack Rome and reconstruct that cross the Alps. But Rome controlled by AI in almost any mod sends his armies to attack southern France, and to be in accordance with history they should use that coast pass (in later times Romans even built there Via Julia Augusta) and fleet.

this game is historically based but it's ALTERNATE history though, so not everything has to happen according to history, otherwise there would be no game. The romans came, the romans conquered, the gauls keeled over, and so on.

In my opinion the lack of that sort of "easy way" is a method to give some flavour to the game, to force to battles in a mountain landscape.
Who would try to cross the Alps if that sort of Ligurian pass is available? Even in case of a strongly garrisoned fort this pass would probably be the choice for most of the players.

My vote is against that coastal pass.
