Damn Dirty Romans!!!

All right, so I decide that it's been awhile since I played as a barbarian faction and I decide to go with the Gauls. Early on things are going great, I snag up a few rebel territories, put down the bandits, get everything reorganized, setup 2 medium size armies (one for the Roman/Illyrian Border, and one for my area which is now france) and ally with the romans. Alas once the Romans united Italy under their rule they and the Illyrians turn on me. I fought the good fight, won battles that by no means should I have won, but now it's been going on for 20 years (it is now 240 BC) and the population of all my cities in that area (the 3 you start with in that area plus 1) is under 500. It's sad really to be defeated by that. They caught my understaffed army and pinned it up against the alps and forced it to fight. I lost 10 Silver Chevroned units (understaffed though) in that battle though I destroyed over 1500 Romans. I've given up hope for these poor cities, I have built what I could for them troopwise, prepared them for their heroic last stand, pulled any experienced units out and family members, with the exception of my mighty Faction Leader Lugotrix of the Eagles. He is in his 60s and to old to move to a new city. I hope he lives long enough for them to lay siege to his city so that he may die in battle like a true warrior.

Mostly I just want to congratulate the RTR team again for making such a kickass mod.

I'd also like to hear anyone elses tales of heroic last stands.
