    Just getting into NTW.

    What are the best settings for an ATI HD 5600 1 GB card in both the CCC and Game Options menus?

    Anyone have a link?

    Also, is there any way to disable the flying flora on the battlefield? I feel like I looking at a scene from Gone With the Wind. Not good.

    Set all settings in CCC to application controlled. Leave Catalyst AI on standard.
    As for ingame settings you'd have to test and try again and again to find the best setting. There is no one magic settings as every computer is different.
    This link could provide you with some useful tips though:

    Good info. TY.

    There is a sticky on this site that instructs the ATI types to disable Catalyst AI if you don't have dual cards - and I don't. Your thoughts?

    I have an AtiHD5670 myself, here are my settings:

    Standard Settings on "custom settings", anti-aliasing&anisotropic filtreling on "app managed", AA Mode&Mipmap on highest and Catalyst AI disabled (heard it's best this way, as the AI is not really intelligent). With these settings, and everything maxed in Napoleon, I get around 30-45 FPS in battles.

    However, I also have an i7 CPU and 4Gb of RAM, so if you have other specs other settings may fit for you, but they're still close.

    Thanks for the feedback all. I have everything set up to taste - except for those annoying flying leaves and thistles

    I recommend turning of the CC for that ATI card. Uses up valuable resources to run, and NTW doesn't use the higher end features of the CC anyways. As mentioned, if you do xfire, that is a different matter.

    Hi Barkhorn1, to disable the flora...

    Edit the preferences.script and find gfx_disable_terrain_ao_gpu and set the flag to true.

    and let the good times roll

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    or add this line to the user.script.txt

    gfx_disable_terrain_ao_gpu true;
