    Default Cyberpower: Good or Bad?

Hello. With the coming holiday season, my parents are going to buy me a new gaming computer for Christmas. So, I did a little research and discovered this seemingly very good website called Cyberpower.com.

But, my dad has doubts about this wesbite and does not know whether or not to trust it.

I have read varied reviews, ranging from utterly amazing to an awful website.

So, to finally come to a decision about Cyberpower, I have decided to ask here.

    My main questions are:
    • Is it a legitimate website (i.e. is this website a scam?)
    • What kind of quality work do they do? Are the computers shipped broken and in need of repair, or are they shipped in perfect condition, with no need of repair?
So, any help with this would be appreciated.

-Yes it's a legit website there is nothing to worry about.
-As far as the damage is considered it happen to any PC, people buy various computer parts etc which come as a brick but it's gets replaced and it's something that doesn't happen usually.

It's legit, usually online custom PC builders first fully test the PC once built and then pack the PC's very, very well to keep them from becoming damaged during shipment. However in rare instances something may happen along the way, in which case you should hope they offer good support.

If at all possible I would recommend you build the PC yourself as what they offer is identical to the parts you could buy from a company like Newegg. Building it yourself gives you the full manufacturer's warranty for each component and makes it much easier to fix the PC if you ever have trouble with it. I expect Cyberpower would require you to ship the entire PC back to them for warranty work.

I'm 99% sure my friend has a cyber power. From newegg.
He's sent it in 3 times. First one was with a messed up GPU
Second worked for a day then wouldn't start, not even into BIOS
Third one worked for a week, then starting giving RAM related BSODs which i couldn't solve
Now it's been two weeks he hasn't had a pc. They claimed they were replacing the PSU for some reason. I'll report back in two days when he gets it back

Thanks for the replies. I suppose I shall go through with it. The message I am getting is that sometimes something does come broken, but that is fairly rare. And I do believe that Cyberpower has fairly good service so I can simply ship it back.

Well thank you guys for the replies.

I bought my computer from Cyberpower. I have nothing but good to say about them. They upgraded my hardware for free, giving me 4 GB of DDR3 instead of DDR2, and a free neon light in the tower, but it was done without my consent, so take that as you want. It shipped all the way across the country first class by FedEx by ground from California to Florida in less than a week, and was undamaged (and if it is damaged it is the carriers fault.).

My computer broke because of, for lack of better words, user error . I called their tech support, and after about 15 minutes on hold, I got to talk to a man, with no foreign accent whatsoever, who tried to get me through the steps to fix my computer. We were unsuccessful, and he told me to ship it in for free repairs. I paid for the shipping there, and that was it. The next week I got my computer back and it worked fine.

And a note of advice I learned was that you can customize most of the computers the same, so find the special that has the free shipping promotion to save yourself in that cost. All I bought from them was the tower (and a free 4-set of speakers ); my mouse, keyboard, and monitor came from newegg.

Ahh, well that sounds good. Well, I think I am convinced to go with Cyberpower then.

And I think I will try for one of those free shipping ones, it does save $65.

Well thank you for your input
