    Default having some issues here

I installed RTW/BI off of a direct2drive purchase. I try to install RTR 1.9 full and get to the point where it says install complete, I have the option to read the install text file, and can check the box to have RTR delete the map file automatically. However, the back button and next button are both greyed out, and my only option is to exit the install. Is RTR not playable for direct2drive installs ? Or did I hopefully do something wrong, and just need to fix something. Thanks for any help.

    Welcome to the forums

Can you post the full path to the directory where RTW (not PE) is installed.
Then right click on the destop icon for PE (The BI version), select properties and post the "target" line

    mine is below

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\Rome Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err -nm -mod:RTRPE

Full pathway for RTW (not PE): C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\RomeTW

Target line for PE (BI version): "C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err -nm -mod:

I am not sure if this is the info you are looking for. Keep in mind, I have no idea how to mod, nor know anything about programming, etc. The PC to me, is basically a much more expensive version of a playstation So you might have to explain this like you were talking to a total idiot. I won't take it personally.

From what I can tell you just need to add the RTRPE to the end of -mod:

so it will become -mod:RTRPE and it should work fine

It still won't load up. Something about invalid pathway. When I installed RTR originally, I wasn't able to complete the install. It stops at the spot where I would select the auto deletion on the map files. I can't progress past that point. I can install to the point where I have short cuts on the desk top, and it says it is finished, but i can't click "next" to finalize the install. Basically, when I get to the spot when I would finalize the install, the "next" button is greyed out.

Yes, both games start fine. But when I try to start the mod, it says the pathway does not exist, or that it can't find RomeTW.exe. I am wondering if I should just bite the bullet and go get CD copies of the game. I was using my brothers copy, and everything worked fine. He saw RTR and quickly took his copy back. I was too lazy to go to the store so I got the game at direct2drive. Now I am having a problem finishing the install for RTR with my new copy to RTW.

Finally got it going !! I unistalled everything and then reinstalled everything, and for some reason it took this time. Don't really understand it, but i'm not going to argue.
