I got around 5 heroic victory ctds so far in my current campaign 2 or 3 happened when I made heroic victory with numidian cavalry since my africa garrisons is usualy 20x of them(which are amazing)and in those victories when I replayed that mark of famous battle on the camp.map doesnt appear maybe it has something to do with ctds.(Al thou I blame the buggy music intervals for ctds

I haven't seen this reported, so maybe it's just me but I'm past the marian(imperial) reforms and no one is going beyond Tribunus Militi after a couple of decades even when there's been powerful generals who have served for a long time and won many victories. Also I noticed that when I got a couple of Proconsul's to try and make it work that way, they don't become anything
. *Edit* I forgot to mention that Plebians and Equestrians are often getting both of their class traits (eg. Equestrians being Jurists and Traders), also characters not having any class when they're "created" or married etc. and picking one up the turn after. The Senate offices work fine though

1. Alex.exe
2. No AA
3. No Autosave
4. No steam
OS: Vista x32
3GB Ram
Powerful enough ATI card with latest drivers
Followed all the devs advices: Game is not installed in Program folder but in a separate one, etc.
Problem description:
I can play ALL factions, no problem at all and so far have not experienced any after battle CTDs. Only problem is a CTD if I play as Rome and I am ambushed by Hannibal at the very beginning of the game at Lake Trasimene. Battle loads up to 25 % and then CTD. BUT: If I attack him, the battle loads normally, no CTD. Also, battle loads normally if I use BI.exe or RTW.exe
dvk: Thanks again for all the work and energy you and the team invested in this game. It is simply great. I also think the more complex a mod becomes (just compare RS 1.5 with RS2!) the more problems may occure plus - as you rightfull pointed out - one has to take into consideration all the new OSs. So, thanks again and please: Do NOT quit!!

dvK: I tried the ALEX formations_ai file but it did not work, I still had the CTD when the battled loaded. But maybe I did something wrong. I copied the file into the ALEX data and did overwrite the old formations_ai file there. I thought that was correct but maybe it was not...
Thanks in advance for your advice
Im gonna try large battle in my campaign and i press soon as possible ok when battle results comes and then if that is not working i will play it again and wait 2min and then press ok. I will tell the result if that fix worked.
It worked! No need to wait.

whenever u try to bribe an enemy general it goes CTD, i only tried it in roman campaign
also the custom battle map rome looks kinda...buggy, theres floating walls, empty groundspace etc.
other than that nice work, really brought me back to rome
also does script only activate if i restart rome, as in it doesn't work if i re load a savegame???
The custom battles at the top of the list (the original RTW ones) were set up by CA. They probably do not work right.

Characters will not get a class immediately upon their 'creation' (after adoption or marriage). That part of the system wasn't working right, so had to be removed. Instead, new characters are assigned their class the next turn..in a random manner. The reason all of this had to change was because Patricians were adopting Plebeians, Equestrians adopting Equestrians, Plebeians adopting Patricians, etc, etc. all over the place. There was no way to prevent this. So, each character from game start is 'assigned' a class by a set of triggers that make sure all characters get one. If a Patrician adopts a Plebeian, for example, now the Plebeian will become a Patrician, and yet still keep his military ranks and stuff, as well as his professions. The same goes for Equestrians. As the system now works, a Patrician can convert an Equestrian or a Plebeian, an Equestrian can convert a Plebeian, but a Plebeian can't 'convert' a higher class to it's own...even if he adopts one.
After the Marian Reforms, there is a condition (trait) that must be met before any characters can progress beyond Tribunus Militi. In otherwords, to proceed to 'Legatus', you must do the following:
Your faction leader must be in a city with a Legion Fortress built in it long enough for him to get a trait that allows OTHER characters to acquire another trait. This trait allows them to get 'Legatus' or better. These triggers look like this:
;------------------------------------------
Trigger Marian_Reforms_Legatus_Transition_Leader_Trigger
WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
Condition IsFactionLeader
and EndedInSettlement
and SettlementBuildingExists >= imperial_legion
Affects Marian_Reforms_Legatus_Trait 1 Chance 100
;------------------------------------------
Trigger Marian_Reforms_Legatus_Transition_Other_Trigger
WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
Condition IsGeneral
and FactionLeaderTrait Marian_Reforms_Legatus_Trait > 0
Affects Marian_Reforms_Legatus_Trait2 1 Chance 100
The first one triggers if the faction leader is in a city with the Fortress.
The second one checks to see if the faction leader HAS the first trait. If he does, other triggers allow the character to go to Legatus.
Don't be upset if this takes a while. There is no knowledge of exactly when this transition started...though it's known to exist in Augustus' time. So did it start with him? Or was it existing before him? It's a grey area, so it really doesn't have to happen fast.

Alright, thanks for answeringgood to know how it works now.

This is the best mod for RTW around here. Much of the others only promise things and when they are released its a disappointment.
The crash that happens with me is after a battle ends. Usually its after I played two battles already in one session, the third crashes after the battle statistics. I followed the instruction to wait five minutes, and some battles still crash with that, others dont. But this is not killing the game.
I was wanting to play a 1-turn campaign, because in 0-turn its stacks after stacks, and I was wanting to keep only one legion of the same number at a time, not having three, four stacks of the same gemina legion around because the celts are throwing lots of stacks in different places. But since the 1-turn campaign was not tested enough I will let time pass and maybe in a few patches I will try it.
Rome 1 Turn works great...
A CTD after 2-3 consecutive battles can be engine related...though CA stated to have fixed the memory leak in pach 1.5 these CTD after lots of battles never dissapeared totally.
Vanilla suffered it and all other mods Ive played ...Its not always the case that the game CTD after 3 battles...but sometimes...
btw..install 2.1 and the TEMPORARY AFTER BATTLE CTD FIX!!

Just to confirm something, do you have to do it with the first faction leader after the reforms or with each consecutive one?
RSIII player
Every faction leader has to have that trait.
@Wolfstorm999: Download and install into your gave the file I posted here:

It will solve the after battle CTD's.

Absolutely fantastic work on RS2 .. breathtakingly beautiful and also a joy to play, so yours Tone/Apple's and the other Dev's beta testers work is really appreciated.

The file needs to be copied into the 'data' folder of whichever modfoldered campaign you are playing. So for example, if you are playing Rome 0-turn, you need to copy that file into 'Play_Rome\data' folder. The same goes for any other campaign. Copying the file into the Alex folder does nothing, because RS2 is an RTW mod...the Alex and BI folders are not even used at all.
