Best mod?

I would like to know the best mod for MTW,2 i'm expecting to play The eastern roman empire.
Or an Italien faction.

Broken Crescent is pretty good. It has the Eastern Roman Empire in it.

For italian play, certainly this (The ERE though is long dead).

The advantage of this mod is that not only can you be super cool by beta testing a beta, and claiming to be amongst the first, but even better the ambience is unique, and it starts you in the start of The Renaissance (No more slogging through years to get to a high tech level).

I highly recommend that for Italian play.

Stainless Steel 6.3 with Meneth's sub-mod Compilation gets my vote, or perhaps the RR/RC October update sub mod for Stainless Steel 6.1

Either way, they maxed out the territories, and also hi the maximum unit limit as well, and have the Eastern Roman Empire.

Not that I know of, of any mod that focuses specifically on The Vatican/Papal States

EDIT: I would still recommend ChC for that.

sorry was actually referring to Rome as the nation - as in Roman empire - Byzantine Empire - eastern roman empire... ehh sorry about that but thanks i'll probably give it a try

Oh, then RR/RC October update for Stainless Steel 6.1 or the newer but slightly tweaked Stainless Steel 6.3 have the best Byzies in it, in my opinion. It grabbed a great sub-mod and has fantastic fluff units for the ERE. Early campaigns you have a powerful economic start, and late era campaigns you have a vicious uphill battle to reclaim Constantinople and the like. Nice flip side of the coin, depending on what you want.

Either way, best of luck (And yes, I am very biased for certain Mods).

Play SS6.3 it has CBUR units for byzzies etc i think otherwise wait for The Great Conflicts 872-1071.
