No assassination movies?

Guys please help! when ever I try and get someone assassinated it don't show the movie of them assassinated! even when I uncheck the bit that says don't show the movie!

Are you playing on one of the Kingdoms campaign?
I´ve noticed that at least some of those doesn´t seem to show any assasination movies.

If it´s in the original game, I´d pray to Ishan that he knows what´s wrong.

Two ways simple way and a more simple way.
Since you haven't mentioned any mods i presume you are not using one and just playing the basic vanilla game so....
Simple way:-
Open the medieval2.preference.cfg(with notepad) file and see whether this option is set to 1 or not:-

assassination_movies = 1

This will be under the [video] section.
If set to zero then set it to 1 meaning true. Save the file and you are set to go.
If you can't save it that's coz this file is set to read only type so right click the .cfg file and click properties and uncheck the read only option.

More simple way:-
Just delete this file and it will regenerate with default settings and set your graphics settings etc if you have made changes any earlier and go play.
