More DLC for Napoleon?

Thread: More DLC for Napoleon?

I don't know, I was thinking whether CA would consider adding more DLC as in a campaign for Napoleon since they're still doing those mod tools. I completed the Grand Campaign and I had tons of fun with it but I don't know, I want more of it, and waiting for a proper complex mod to be released will take too much time.

I was thinking whether a DLC pack of ten new units with a small campaign tossed in between would be enjoyable to get a quick Napoleonic fix? Any thoughts?

I would love that. I need a spark to get the flame going again, myself. I've been playing through the Main Campagn, at a slow pace, trying to get interested again.

My pace on the campaigns can sometime be glacial. I probably spend more time going over the campaign map and strategizing than I do in battles by a large factor. To paraphrase Sun Tzu, I try to set up the win first then go to battle rather than go to battle then try to win.

I would love some more battles or even a full campaign. Perhaps they could cover the period up through the Crimean War, but I doubt they go that route. I had an almost nonstop long weekend (Wednesday-Sunday) of NTW, and finished several games in that time, so I'm looking for something new.

I agree, though, that the War of 1812 would be an interesting addition to the game. Maybe, we could have the American version of the campaign centered around figures like Andrew Jackson? Regardless, I'm sure Canadian players would love the opportunity to invade America. Additionally, while I feel it might be out of Napoleon's time frame, could we perhaps see the inclusion of the Mexican-American War?

Some extra units would be useful as well, not just an extra campaign. France, Prussia, Austria and England have enough units, what about the rest of the countries?

I'm sure others have requested it, but adding a small DLC campaign of the War of 1812 (as it's called here in the U.S.) could be fun. It would be much smaller in size than the scope of NTW, but would be enjoyable anyway.

Yeah see here is one of my issues, Napoleon TW if done well is actually a gem of a game because it actually encompasses TOTAL WAR to the fullest. More content would spark interest once more and can actually help it in order to prepare a bit the road for the modding tools.

Maybe a war of 1812 campaign? But I highly doubt that.
Maybe a great expansion about the revolutionary wars? Royalists versus the Rebels etc.
True the Revolution Order of War mod is doing this, but if CA made this as DLC I would surely buy it!

NTW is the best TW game to date. The only reason I still play ETW is for the other continents and numerous factions, despite how cartoonish, plain, and silly the game generally is (biggest gripe: ETW lacks NTW's beautiful liberate feature). It would take a major NTW expansion to add the other two theaters back in, along with the corresponding factions, but... well, one can dream can't they?

I would prefer a patch to fix some gameplay issues on the battle map. The UI is a mess for grouping! It is difficult to find what your looking for. i still don't understand it.
Short keys for formations don't work. And why, why can't i stack orders to all units eg. for artillery move over there then unlimber and vice versa, cavalry move there dismount.

If there was a dlc i would like to see remodeled uniforms for some factions, better done head gear for units, most of them atm. look poor and uninspired.

I recommend to use unit modifications. There are many good unit modifications with historical units.

There won't be any new DLC, because they've packed the original game with all already-released DLC in a box and sell it as complete package. That would be a fairly sucky marketing idea to screw over those who bought the all-DLC edition, as it's highly likely they have no means to normally buy the DLC through the Steam.

Given CA releases new game each year, they don't have to release DLC for more than a year for every released game. Same thing with Empire, really. I don't really see why would you want to pay for another DLC on top of what you've already paid, Napoleon is a complete game and there are decent community mods for it.

If anything, it would be in good taste if they added game content free-of-charge, as a patch to the game. They still have to correct some uniforms and bugs, mind you. At the very least such content-bugfix patch would promote the Steam platform, especially in the eyes of people who dislike it for various reasons.

May I point out that Borderlands had one such package and that they have still released new dlc? They packaged it all together: the game, Zombie Ned and Moxxi. Afterwards they released Knoxx and have recently released a new dlc, namely Claptrap Robolution. They have however released another package that includes all current dlc. Evidence:

    Ned + Moxxi : http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...CBsQ8wIwBDgA#p
    All current dlc : http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...CAwQ8wIwATgA#p

There is still hope that Napoleon will get more dlc Maybe..

Lame way of handling your customers. Still, I honour virtues over desire for profit, so perhaps CA will prove me wrong yet again ...

CA should get Reputation Risk Insurance, just in case
