Nice pic... but the drum looks a little weird?

It was a special drum introduced in 1809 by the Spanish based on the work of Sergio Guláble, the Spanish musician and later Minister of Culture and Music who demonstrated that resonance from hexagonal drums (timbre hexágono) was sharper in tone and therefore carried further across the battlefield and through the sounds of battle.

PS: Note that while the officers have a less shiny cuirass, they have the special helmet decoration.

EDIT: I managed to get LME's nice horses and saddle covers etc to work with the standard cuirassier unit but not the 'Heavy Cavalry Reserve' unit (don't know why). Here's how it looks:

I have gotten back to playing napoleon again and of course i use your units.i just wanted to reiterate how easy it is to fall into tears of glory as the call to charge is heard over the cannon fire and the last rays of the sun gleams from the cuirassiers armour as they once again carry the day against all odds.amazing.thank you so much for this

Seems like it has been MASSIVE battle, 100 000 per side, so it takes DAYS! And that unit has been in front line over day, and finally get some back up!
Apologies for anyone who's message i may miss or not be able to answer

Given the fantastic failure of NTW on the part of Steam, I have come to rally the troops and harden your resolve; stay calm and carry on lads, and soon we shall all be conquering Europe again!

Now, I usually don't do anything but combat pictures, but perhaps this will get you salivating (and, I hope, further your outrage that you cannot continue to do such things due to Steam's imbecilic blunder!)

1805 Campaign, France; William Pitt's England has been brought to heel after a grueling 16 weeks of combat and maneuvering; the English could not hold back Marshal Bernadotte any longer, and crossing from Ireland into Scotland, the British defense finally collapsed, London would suffer 6 weeks of siege before coming to terms bloodlessly.

Russia, and the shattered Remnants of the Hapsburg Empire, could no longer bear the cease-fire as news of Britian's collapse reached them, and they promptly declared war in Winter of 1808; a fantastic feat of marching occured with no less then 6 Corps d'Armee re-crossing the Channel and making a forced march towards the Polish frontier. After an entire winter on the strategic defensive, the tired corps of Marshal Davout (Poland's defender) forms the reserve as the Grand Armee pushes towards St. Petersburg.

As a diversionary measure, two corps push into the Balkans to the South. The stage is set....

    Nice pictures :-)

Note that a work-around is to restart steam in offline mode and it makes NTW playable again until a permanent fix is implemented by Valve.

    Iutland,

Thanks. Also if you select option to use the Steam Beta it will work again.

    Chevalier,

Yes, Iutland's horses really add to the visuals! Sorry, but no plans to to anything with the carabinier for now. But I'm having fun with greatcoats...

The picture with the French Fusiliers charging with 88's on their heads is awesome! It's incorporated into Darthmod isn't it?!

After the catastrophic russian campaign, Napoleon retreated to France where he raised the grand army once more and returned on the offensive in Germany. After liberating Bavaria from Austria, he marched onto Vienna where he severely defeated an army led by archduke Charles himself and occupied the capital once more. The habsburg pretended to break their treaty with the allied powers if Napoleon accepted peace but the negotiations were drawn out by the silver-tongued Metternich. His victory was short lived for the allied armies converged towards him with all their strenght and he soon found himself nearing encirclement. Maréchal Ney was dispatched to hold the austrians and intercepted them near a major river protecting the city. Outnumbered two to one and protected by a batallion of carabiniers, he took position on a rocky slope to begin the battle. The grand army could ill afford to loose for it would mean leaving Napoléon trapped in the capital of the habsburg.

Wow, it's been ages since I last checked out my favourite NTW mod, and it looks like it's going stronger than ever!

    Gotta re-install that game...
