Two bands that are utterly different... Why do you link them? Is it their collaboration song on pendulum's new album?
Otherwise, there is nothing at all that links an Anglo-Australian Drum and Bass band (supposedly) and a melodic Death metal Band from Sweden.

Well, I can't speak for In Flames, but I can say that Pendulum used to be one of the best DnB acts in the world. Their first album, Hold Your Colour, was a masterpiece, but since then they've gone a bit downhill. They are still good, but they're becoming a bit too much of a rock band for my tastes.

I link them because I like both. Funny thing though is that Wikipedia relates them too even before immersion.

I used to like Pendulum but they have take a sharp nose dive.

In Flames are also OK, haven't listened to them in a long time. They played at the first ever gig I went to (They were supporting Motorhead)

I like both, though as has been said, they are different. However, both are sweet to listen to when you are in a heavy mood.
