The guide was written by a user for which it did work. Did you try it?

Offhand I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to...

I have the gold edition on steam. When I installed SS6.3, I just followed the instructions on the installer to "Add a game..." via steam, and pointed it to the "Launcher.exe" inside the SS6.3 folder. Am I missing something? Does this not add all the functionality it's supposed to? I played around a bit, and it has the new splash screen and buildings. However, I haven't played vanilla in years, and I've never played SS before; so I'd be a poor judge if I was missing something...

I'm not sure how you got it to work with steam, sounds diffrent to what i did with RTW. But what factions are available for your campaigns? Tbh it sounds like it's installed properly.

I have all the factions, and the "Early Start Campaign" option. The only thing I can't be entirely sure of is perhaps the battle AI and CAI, but I'm assuming they're in their too if everything else is.

I simply selected "Add a game" on the bottom of Steam's game library section, and selected the "launcher.exe" from within the default SS6.3 folder at "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\SS6.3" When I want to play, I just select that new game that Steam added to my library (I renamed it from launcher.exe to Stainless Steel).

This was after I installed SS6.3 and the fixes package.
