how can I play LOTR-TW in windowed mode?

By adding -ne to the shortcut:
"C:\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-ALX.exe" -mod:alexander/lotrtw -show_err -enable_editor -ne

These are other useful line commands:

-show_err
-movie_cam
-mod:bi/ci (where ci is my mod)
-enable_editor (enables the battle editor)
-nm (disables the intro video)
-ne (sets to windows mode)
-ai (switches to ai control)
