Read the post, guys.
"Reinforcements delayed" is a thing that can happen as a part of the game. It simulates your other army getting hung up on the march, or delayed by weather or whatever, and suddenly you find your plans blown away.
Now, if this is happening every battle, there might be something weird going on.
Do not save the game before the batle...
Also last thing you do before pressing start battle button is toggle the "allow AI control" button at least twice, especially do not "look" at opposing army cards. look at enemy cards first! then toggle AI button, then start battle. Had
this probem myself, its not SPQR, but only kicks in when near limit of your PC's ability, which SPQR mod does!
This is true sometimes you have to do that button twice, some glitch since the 1.3 patch of RTW
Yeah... On my pc this never happened, but when I installed RTW to dads loptop in every battle I had no reinforcements or delayed. It was happening because loptop was quite weak... Though I was able to play on medium graphics with Large unit scale (80 men) no lag.
Okay, this "bad computer" thing has to be a coincidental fallacy.
I have a tired old cow of a laptop, and I play with huge units, and play with unlimited men on the battlefield. I've occasionally had the "reinforcements delayed" card drop on me, but when I had two stacks versus one.
Conversely, I've stuttered through battles where I've had my army plus two allied AI reinforcements against two full stacks of enemies. We were in the neighborhood of 17,000 men on the field on that one, and my frame rate was in the neighborhood of 2.
Now, if you're talking about having control over more than one stack at a time, then I can't help you, because I've always assumed that if I control all of my troops, I get 20 units at a time, no exceptions. When some withdraw from the field or rout, then I get replacements. If y'all are getting control over more than 20 units at a time, then there's a computer performance issue.
Otherwise, no.
