Default How to remove vegetation from battle maps?

I`m trying to remove all kinds of palms, bushes, etc. from appearing on sandy and rocky desert battle maps. I`ve tried to modify descr_climates and descr_vegetation, but there was no effect. Is there anyone familiar with that stuff?

    Maybe "descr_geography_new.txt" ?

The descr_vegetation.txt contains the information concerning which vegetation is associated with each climate. Unfortunately that is all it is, information. Editing this file will have no effect because the game does not read it.

The vegetation.db in data\vegetation is where the actual moddable settings are located. You will need to edit this with a hex editor. Good luck , this file is very hard to work out.

    Have a look at this.

Although descr_geography_new.txt can be modded and a db version generated through a config command this file only tells the game how to make battlemaps. The textures are determined in the geography db but which vegetation is associated with which climate/texture combination is governed by the veg.db

Thanks. It looks quite hard to edit that file in hex editor, but since I`ll only have to remove 2 types of palm trees and shrubs, maybe I could make it.

Or perhaps replacing vegetation models and textures with rocks could be a workaround?

    EDIT

Yeah - replaced palm trees with rocks, and it works and looks ok (unit path-finding seems fine, they are walking around those rocks).
