how many patches have there been since june 1st?

did they do anything in any of those patches to reduce the effectivness of cav?

recently i've lost my touch in 1 v 1s.... i'm trying to figure out if there are any changes i need to be aware of with regard to cavalry, or if i'm really just this much out of practice?

That patch came with Peninsulan DLC. I'm not sure whether the cav got an overall nerf to balance out the square; if so, only a small one.

hmm, well i may just need to relearn how to attack with perfect timing. the way i used to play was heavily dependent on timing.

Yes m8 - i have noticed lately cav orders are really sluggish and very odd - when you have them charging at inf they sometimes seem to move at slower then a walk or even stop in front of enemy and the enemy havst even boxed. even if you reissue the command they go really slow. a few days a ago i grouped two cav units and set them on a charge one unit went like a rocket and the other was in slow motion. and as usual these issues are worse when the game really lags. It going to be hard to get the feel and timing back when the game is so random. as you said timing is so vital if you use cav. my suggestion is to stick to maybe a strong brit line build with just a few cav to mop up when needed and gradually increase the number of cav the more games you play. ive been using a swedish build with 7 cav and i have to say two weeks ago it was working a treat but ive noticed now the cav are hard to move in game and its a bit annoying. instead of mircoing individual units ive had to resort to trying to move around a cav blob. still effective but really annoying.

Yea termie's right. I have noticed cavalry have similar problems usually around enemy units. especially when underfire which is somewhat understandable I guess but other times its just annoying.

Yeah, had a game on Austrian Pinnacles yesterday where my Dragoons had some action in the first three minutes and never recovered from Very Tired throughout the whole game although standing still.

Heavy cavalries tend to be quite silly compared to light cavalry. Heavy cavalry almost feel like one time heavy charge and fighting use.
