I have just started playing RTW again, i wanted to play online, but everytime i try to join it tells me i failed to connect to a host, i am playing RTW V1.5 Vanilla
so whats the problem?

had the same problem months ago, I just gave up trying .....I installed gamespy, I created an account, I tried to join directly from gamespy, then from the game menu.... eh' , campaign ftw

do i need to install gamespy?
EDIT: I installed gamespy but it says when i try to log on , 'unable to connect to chat server' or something like that any help

I can get online RTW and host games but every time i try to join another person's game it says 'Unable to Connect to Host' Help please i really want to get online

Yeah, that sounds like a local problem. Installing GameSpy doesn't do squat. You should check your system firewall, router... anything you have that might mess with connections. Make sure the appropriate ports are forwarded. Worst case scenario it's your ISP. Unfortunately this is one of those things where there's no obvious answer. It's trial and error...

i have let rome total war through the firewall and it still does not work, so how do i forward the correct ports?
