installing patch

So the solution is this: download the attached file and place it in data/_IMPORTANT_STUFF/Single_Player


How you do this? Make a folder and put the patch into it, then copy and paste to single player?
please give steps.

Please... Can we have only one final patch ? patch 1, patch 2, patch 3, fix of the patch 2, fix of the fix... Please do only one final patch ... :/

@SW: copy the Patch into RS2 as instructed. Then, go into the main 'data' folder and find 'descr_rebel_factions.txt'. Right click it and choose 'Copy'.
Then, go into the '_important_stuff' folder, find the folder named 'singleplayer', right click the folder and choose 'Paste'. It will ask you if you want to 'copy and replace' (Vista and Win7), or to 'Replace' if you have WinXP..in either case, make sure you choose to replace the existng file.

When I get home I'm going to fix this and re-up the Patch.

@super_newbie_pro: Hopefully, this patch will fix the existing issues with RS2. From that point on, installing any patch will just be a voluntary update of RS2. No one is going to force you to do it. It will probably be a while before there are any additional patches, as I'm pretty much the only one working on RS2 anymore, and I intend to add a lot of traits (other faction leadership systems), and to continue making RS2 a better mod based on input, suggestions, and constructive criticism. NOT patching or working on this would basically just be abandoning it, which I don't intend to do.

Part 1: RS 2.1 Patch

Extract the contents of the zip file into your RS2 directory (the directory where the data folder and all the modfolders are), and choose to overwrite existing files:

This i understand ( this update gos into the data folder from RS2 installer ( fans mod)
I understand what you said by finding rebel ect.
But what about the file that i downloaded the mini fix?

The issues we had were with one file not being copied across correctly (descr_rebel_factions.txt) , so please do the following.

What is done here? Download mini fix on desktop, and place it into a folder then copy it to this location? Which is Single_player?

That's where you put the file. It's the same file I was talking about above.
