Default I how do I access the script texts?

How do I access the script files? In the game directory on program files, the scripts texts cannot be seen in the there respective files (the files just appear empty). I am trying to modify the game's naval camera so it is not restricted like it normally is.

I found out how to change do that with the script text but I cannot get to it in order to do it.

    Any help??

What version of Windows are you running?
The scripts are in your home folder; XP has it in
    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts\preferences.empire_script.txt
    for Vista it's
    C:\Users\"youraccountname"\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire\scripts
Win7's is slightly different, but similar. Some of those folders are hidden, make sure you can see them.

For the camera, you need to set "default_camera_type" to 2.

Thanks, I have Windows XP. I followed the instructions for it until Owner but the Application Data folder does not appear at all in the folder. You said that I should make sure that I can see them? How do I change the folder so they will appear??

You'll have to forgive me, I'm not tech savvy when it comes to data stuff like this.

I don't have an English Windows, so I have to guess the actual label texts:
It's in the Windows Explorer's "Special" menu item, "Folder Options", "View"; there is a list with checkboxes, one of which reads "Show Hidden Files and Directories", make sure it's checked.

I'm using windows vista. The only way I've been able to access the script files was to search for "appdata" with the windows search-function.

Ok, I figured it out now. The way I found it is I opened Control Panel on the left side of the My Computer box and I found Folder Options in there. So it's all good now.

    Thanks for the help guys.
