    Default How do you.........

    Okay

Does anybody have any idea how to load the original RTW game using the BI.exe file?

I tried what I thought would be a stupid idea, by copying the RTW game files into the BI directory. It loads the game itself, but refuses to load the battles.

So is it possible to utilize a command line or something?

    Please help!

the reason is that in expanded_bi.txt the julii, greek_cities etc are all still there but the bi version doesn't have their units... the only thing that is quite wierd would be how you got the campaign to load without any edb or edu unless you already included them in which case it'll just be the units themselves (eg textures, models) that cause the game to not work... i suppose

you'd have to unpack the skins/model files, move them to the bi directory then repack them and it would take ages but yeh it is possible... just me personaly couldn't be bothered... to get night battles all you have to do is have a 1.3 game and in descr_strat add night_battles_enables and the traits and triggers and its done

    Simple:
    1. Create a mod folder called "RTW" in your "Rome - Total War" directory
    2. Copy the data/world/maps/base and data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign folders to the new directory (be sure to use the same folder structure, i.e. base dir will be RTW/data/world/maps/base and so on)
    3. Rename the imperial_campaign folder to barbarian_invasion
    4. Copy data/text/imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt to your mod dir
    5. Rename RTW/data/text/imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt to barbarian_invasion_regions_and_settlement_names.txt
    6. Create a shortcut on your desktop (you can just copy the Barbarian Invasion shortcut) and add -mod:RTW to the command

    7. Start the game and enjoy.

No thing is everything. Every thing is nothing.
