Default The Inbetweeners/Gross and crude comedy

I know this is quite country specific and rather un-recent, but I recently recieved the boxset of a comedy series called The Inbetweeners for my birthday. I had never even heard of it and even though it was gut-wrenchingly gross/awkward at times I found it absolutely hysterical, and thouroughly enjoyed it all the way through the 3 series.

So this question is mostly directed at British memebers who have seen some of the show, or anyone else who holds an opinion on "gross-out" comedy, what do you think of it?

I think it's fantastic. It is a slightly funnier version of my own teenage years, but that kind of gross-out comedy that The Inbetweeners does so well really captures the awkwardness of it all. I suppose that's what sets it apart from a lot of British comedy because it's something we can relate to and that makes the comic effect all the more powerful.

The Inbetweeners is one of my favourite comedy shows ever. Jay's the best one "The Dead Hand Gang"

The episode were they go to Camper Sands for the caravan club is pure quality. Shame the 3rd season was pretty poor.

I didn't find it so gross actually. Haven't seen the third season yet, but it's pretty good.
Some day I'll actually write all the reviews I keep promising...

Third season takes the grossness to the limit. I really enjoyed it.

It's good because it's close to how crappy most people's 6th form experience is. Trying and (failing) to have sex, the crushing boredom of still being at home. Endlessly trying to get your hands on booze/fags/weed. Far better than Skins, which I just find preposterous.

It's funny, relies a bit too much on stereotypes though.

The Inbetweeners is great because most of the stuff has actually happened and is funnier as my mates and I can actually relate to it. e.g. getting drunk on school trips, "BONER!", plus I know Joe Thomas.

One of the funniest shows ever. Really the only thing left on television that I know I will laugh at before it starts.

The Inbetweeners is great because most people can relate to it in some way. The whole failing to get laid thing, the difficulty of getting booze and weed and the fact that there is a definite social totem pole, where the few guys at the top get all of the girls. It sums up your average guy's college experience really well. I was mainly Simon, with a bit of Jay in me.
